More woes for Apple, approx $50bn (£32bn) wiped off Apple's value.... Thats some hit.

They made 13bn in profit in the last quarter on 54bn of sales, so you could say it's wiped out that.
For some more perspective on things, this is a tweet from Tom Gara:
Apple's market value has fallen by the combined market value of two Nokias plus two RIMs in the hours since its results came out.

I'm still really enjoying using my 4s.
Ill probably change to another iPhone when my contract expires in September, be it the 5s or 6.
It doesn't bother me that there are bigger faster phones out there. I like m iPhone as it does what I want it to when I want it, it doesn't break down on me or stop working.
My wife has a Sony Xperia U and whilst its a nice phone I'm sick of having to fiddle with settings and adjust things just to keep it working normally. I've lost count of the amount of times its lost her email settings for example. There have been other issues too.
My iPhone doesn't cause me any issues, that's why I like it.
I like iOS it works fine for me, better than android.
I look forward to people telling me I've got my own opinion and experience wrong now.

I think there would still have been the loss. If you sell device x at 300 and it sells a lot and then introduce device y which costs 100 and you sell the same amount as device x, you won't make more in sales. Profiti perhaps, depends on the margin
iPad mini sold a lot and took away sales from the full size iPad and that could account for some of the loss. Carriers also had the iPhone 4 as a zero dollar contract phone so this meant more people were enticed by that than by buying an iPhone 5. Again a loses
Apple may have slipped to second but that is not a massive loss. If the had dropped to fifth that would be a worry. Also don't forget that apple does have a very large pot if cash so it is not broke
I'm fairly confident they will continue for a few more years yet
