Yeah its strange the difference in price between the base models and the 330s - I guess maybe also being the last actual prodrive edition car so to speak might have something to do with it, not sure to be honest - maybe the interior package/seats also - seats are brilliant imo, you sit in them rather than on them if that makes sense

the recaro seats became standard in the facelift saloon & hatch sti between my11-13

Go drive a cosworth tho if you can and you'll soon see the difference over an sti/330s

Default Cosworth v 330s

As i have both, I have been asked the question a few times and the way I describe the difference is the power and delivery is 'Rawer' if there is such a word lol.
The handling etc is sharper, overall the set up is a lot better and doesn't seem like only 70 brake between them, Chalk and Cheese.
Basically I concur with Gambit really.

Default Prototype 3

Is there such a thing or is it a fake? One for sale at the moment with full engine spec listed, looks quite close except label is p-03 and seats are different.

what about putting a forged/remapped 330s into the mix, still going to be cheaper than a CS400?

Just a forged MY11 Hatch (all CS400's were based on a MY10 unless it's been given a facelift) with some addon Cosworth stickers etc. and claiming to be P-03 (which AFAIK and from reading this thread, doesn't exist ??)
It even has a tow bar mount with electrics.

That's got some hidden rust underneath it, very suspicious how various bits are rusty as hell, eg bolt heads, propshaft, and the rest appears to have had tanking blackjack coated on it. Certainly been through a number of Scottish winters quietly rusting underneath whilst the owner spent money on stickers above.

I was considering it as a purchase but was struggling with finance as the age of car goes against me. Just have to save my pennies for the forester 2.5l jdm I wanted instead 😂

If you look at the Mot history it's done very little mileage each year, the main bulk of driving was done when it was new.

My 330 is Forged(Paul Finch). I thought the 330s was remapped anyway, but not very astute on the remapping scene lol.
But at the end of the day it won't be one of the 75(plus prototypes) Cosworth's. Which will always(hopefully) fetch a premium.
I got mine as an investment as well as the experience of having one.

Your right they were (badly) just like mine I bet your ran miles better after Paul Finch had finished.

From an exclusivity point of view the 330s cant touch it, they made more for a start, I guess my point is you could get an STI hatch to the performance level fairly easily you would just have to for go the exclusivity.

Certainly seems to, but still only done just over 1000 miles in it since it was done 4 years ago lol.I think there are approx 160 330s's so still a chance of a premium.
But like you said better to get a Standard STI and do something with it.
I would sooner keep both of mine as close to standard as they came as opposed to spending 000's on upgrades etc, which is subjective to each owner and will not necessarily increase any value

Default Price Hike

Seems like the market for the CS400 is going crazy atm.
One went for £41.5k with 12k Miles in June here
https://themarket.co.uk/en/listings/...5-904d4ca0af30
and now one has appeared on FleaBay for £50k lol
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313678898...IAAOSwLnhhSAh3
Could have sold mine 6 months ago for £35k but fortunately I am in a position where I don't need too atm. But that can change if needs be.
Both of my lads have their eyes on them anyway, awaiting my demise lol.

Even the 330s's are fetching/asking for £16k + on the whole.
Seems to be inline with the overall car market though as trying to get a decent deal on anything atm is akin to getting blood out of a stone.
