Would be interesting to know what that is.
Looks like the a/c belt on this must be a stretch belt - no bracket or tensioner pulley that I can see....

To save me starting another thread i'll give this one a bump.
I'm looking at changing my car soon Which is a 2018 BMW M2 DCT, i've been having a look at a few options and this Cosworth CS400 came up on one of the searches i was doing.
I'm just after a few opinions, would this be a step backwards in power compared the M2, what's the handling like on the CS400, what's the build quality like, i guess that even with it being a premium model it will feel a bit cheap and plasticky inside like previous Subaru's ?
How do you see values going in the future ?

I haven't driven or been a passenger of a CS400 but a friend of mine owns a M2 and I can say that is a phenomenal car out of the factory, only with upgraded pads and tyres it zoomed around the Ring and on country roads.
I think you may find the CS400 more 'boring' on dry roads being AWD compared with the M2, on the other hand on the wet the Impreza would be the car I'd want to be in.
Personally, if I was the owner of a M2 and having seen what it can do, I wouldn't change it for the Impreza (I own a JDM 2008 Impreza STi 20th anniversary which is a fantastic car but the M2 is quicker).

I had am M2 DCT with about 400ps for about 6 months. It just never hit the spot for me personally, it was a lovley car but just not raw enough to tingle the senses.
I have never driven a CS400 but would imagine its a riot to drive, probably crap build quality compared to the M2 but much more fun. For a weekend toy i much prefer my scoob to an M2

The only thing that puts me off is the probable build quality for the kind of money they command, if they were under 20k then yeh i don't think you'd hesitate but £30k plus for something that will probably feel cheap and dated on the inside, that's the prob, i'm sure it would be fun to drive and i like the styling plus it's 4 door which i need.

I am afraid with a Scooby, whether a standard STi etc or A CS400, you have to accept the compromise on 'Plastic' lol.
My CS ain't even goy keyless entry/Ignition where as my 330s has it and Recaro seats etc
Only 70 brake between the 2 but like chalk and cheese in terms of delivery imo.
It's not just the engine/Turbo on the Cosworth, also different suspension set up exhaust etc.
Yes the £30k could be a deal buster for some but as only about 57 out of 75 made still going in UK, the likely hood that prices should go up is quite good imo.
The Beamer(also around £30k) on the other hand is no doubt better built and more luxurious and probably more reliable, BUT it is one of approx 3000 so it's debatable as to whether is an appreciating classic.
There is a good chance the Scooby will still be worth at least the £30k in 5 years time(more i hope)
On the other hand the Beamer will more than likely be worth, nearer £20k or less.
Only an opinion and any car is only worth what someone is willing to pay at the end of the day, no matter how niche.

I have worked hard and been lucky as well.
A brickie for 33 years the hard bit and buying and selling from office at home for the last 11 years is definitely the lucky bit.

So, turns out one of my good friends owned NO 3 of 75 CS400. Was Written off after a collision with a granny who was also to blame for it. My Mate was totally gutted. Front end damage and he tied to buy it back but Insurance Co sold it to a Rally team first. Black car Isle of Man registered.

Is he going to have a go at breaking Mark Higgin's lap time on the TT course ? I'm joking obviously lol, it looks a nice car, i'd change the spoiler to the higher Sti one.

Don't think he'll change anything as Limited Edition, 77 of 300.

CS400 Front Downpipe and Cat For Sale
I now have only 5 x Genuine Subaru Cosworth CS400 Exhaust Front Pipe and Cat left For Sale.
If any CS400 owners out there want one then you can arrange collection anytime(Cambridgeshire) and bring £240 with you.
Message me if any questions.
It's that classic saying 'When there gone there gone'
No longer being made by Cosworth and I believe I is the only one who has any.

They dont compare in any shape or form. Handling is night n day compared to std 330s. Performance wise 330s is quick but very muted in comparison to cosworth.
What I will say is 330s is a better spec'd interior. Better recaro seats, better head unit/sat nav, keyless entry etc. Though larger frame people dont like the tightness of the recaros. Cosworth are retrimmed standard sti seats
Would I take a cosworth over a 330s everyday yes.

I might be able answer a bit for you given I have a 330s which i bought as std spec car albeit forged but has since been fitted fmic, gt30 but with genuine full cosworth suspension and cosworth exhaust system and is circa 400bhp - but still in std sti brembos
