2 lanes, one guy sat in the middle with paperwork or a laptop to quickly search / tick things off on a spreadsheet. I could do this as I have a small laptop with an 8~ hour battery.

Are all the attendees names in a spreadsheet anywhere btw? A passworded Google Doc spreadsheet would be PERFECT for this!

I've been thinking about this. My next post will outline a proposed solution.

Again, spreadsheet would help cross-reference this with search functionality

Just to be aware Zippy is in a white classic Impreza with BBS wheels so ask every white Impreza with BBS wheels if they are zippy - if the are obviously dont say anything just wave them through

Okay, lot of info / pics here. This is a proposal, no harm in saying it won't work or suggesting amendments

First, here's an overall map of the area with proposed entry and exit lanes and both green and blue areas defined;



For entry, there will be 2 lanes of vehicles that can be formed, with 3 marshals; 1 for each lane (Lane Marshals), and the third (List Marshal) for checking names in the middle.



When a car comes in, the 2 lane marshals greet the vehicle occupants and asks for their attendance name / number. Lane Marshals then ask List Marshal if the name / number is on the list, List Marshal to confirm yes / no.

If List Marshall responds yes, Lane Marshal to instruct is on the list inform them that Connor is not to be made aware of his condition and to enjoy the day, then direct them to either Area A or Area B (see map) depending on how space is (other marshals to confirm via walkie talkie). Lane Marshal also to inform people where the exit is should they wish to leave.

Perhaps we can print the main map off and hand it to people as they come in? I've kept it as an editable image, so we can add more stuff, such as burger van / toilet / first aider locations?

If List Marshal responds no, or if film crews etc, Lane Marshal to direct vehicle to rejection gate.



Obviously we need to see if we can get that white gate open, and there'll need to be signs / a marshal monitoring that no one comes in through that white gate.

Then, as people wish to leave, they exit using the below exit in a calm collected manner;

what about those not on the list taking their chances in the yellow and red car parks ?
if people have made the effort it may not go down well if we turn round and just say "your names not down your not coming in "

All on list have to contact via pm a central account . They are then "vetted" and issued with a printable "pass' these can only be sent to those proving they are on the list etc

The wife works at a small safety equipment distributor in Huddersfield and they are giving her 6 hi-viz vests which i will bring with me on the morning.

Invite senior fire officer or Police officer etc to ask for guidance in regards to emergency access

Just wanted to say, i could eaisly write a small program that loads in a list from a text file of attendees. You would then start typing maybe the list number or username etc and it displays all the info it finds in real time.

It would run on Windows XP or 7

The local fire service will be in attendance, Busta has agreed a parking space for their Fire engine, they wanted to be involved in some way they have a spot near the exit so they can leave in a rush if they need to

 

More marshalls please welcomed, be there for 10-10.30 for quick briefing, and if you can bring hi vis jackets as Sam has only got 25 and I think somebody else has some too, but better to have more than less
