Yeah, i'm not a fan of black wheels. They are a bit 5 years ago plus you lose all the detail and size of the wheel against the car

Doh!

The sports design kit does suit the car in black then. I agree though I've also never been a fan of black alloys on any car.

I really do fancy that kit, it will cost north of £3k to retrofit though......

Thanks Mattee.

John, I've secured a discount and that's why i think they'll want me to register in 2012. The curious thing is they've not stipulated it in any conversation I've had so far. Whereas when I bought the BM the discount I negotiated was always on the proviso that I would register before a certain date.
Oh I am sure you'll manage with the cooking up/down spoiler

Actually the rear end is very nice without it too, a testament to the purity of the design

Anyway well done, looks amazing

I hope your wife gets something really special for Xmas Too

Black wheels, silver rim, white car. Only.

Anything else looks like its trying too hard.

Keep it as it is DD - the 991 is now a GT car, not a track slag.
It has poise and class, don't spoil it with unecessary fripperies.

Hello David, welcome back

There's enough of us now to have a little Porsche sub forum on Scoobynet, the other members would of course love that

Good to see you back. I'm really excited about getting this car, I haven't felt like this in years.

Btw in your pics (and colour) you can see just how perfectly proportioned this car is. I think it's the best looking 911 ever (I'm not a classic car fan so very early 911s don't appeal to me)

The 997 was a very good looking car but the 991 is even in better imho

Yey, nice to see you back Trout

lovely car - seen it on the other forums iirc.

Perhaps we should lobby Stu about a sub-forum

The problem with the standard rear setup is that IMO the pop up spoiler when up looks ridiculous although with the 991 it does look a bit better than the 964 effort. The car looks much better with the clean lines and it not being deployed

I can see merit in both. The duck tail can look very nice in the right colour, red or white being the best.

However without it the car just looks perfectly proportioned.

Anyway, at least we all agree that nobody likes that huge spoiler on the back of a 997.2GT3 RS. I mean who would be seen driving around in one of those?
