Hey Scott,

Have you found the Sport Design front spoiler to cause you any problems ie over speed bumps etc?

Thanks

No its pretty good really, its probably not a lot lower than the standard bumper. Its nowhere near the GT3 lip in terms of low. The 991 has less overhang too so this probably helps too. Mines not on the SPASM so could cause a few more problems if SPASM is specced but i would of thought nothing major

Look forward to the pictures Ding and congrats. I think a 2nd hand 991 or a M4 will be my next car when I am sick of the M3. Did you go for Trout's grey?

Thanks Scott/Jim

Jim, I really fancied the Agate but they didn't have a suitably specced one ie it didn't have the seats I wanted or one had a yukky red leather interior!

They had a red one which I fancied (Scott's one with the ducktail looks simply awesome) but my wife said there is no way she is driving around in a red Porsche. She thinks having a Porsche is too flash as it is without it being in red

Anyway, I went for basalt black. The interior is lighter than I would have liked, gives it more of a luxury feel than sporty but you have to accept some compromises. Anyway here is a quick pic.

Thanks Dan, and thanks for the advice on the keyboards. I haven't replied on that thread yet as I've been distracted by the car!

About bloody time!

Looks a real good spec - nothing over the top.

Well done.
When do you get it?

Now, has someone bought you a thick skin for Christmas?
You sometimes need one driving a Porsche.....

That is absolutely stunning Ding! I wouldn't ever have a black car as I don't have the time to keep it clean and do it justice, I am sure you will though.

Does the Sport design steering wheel give it paddles instead of buttons to change gear?

Is it possible to have the paddles and have the stereo functions etc on the steering wheel as well?

Zip, not sure when I get it. As it is a physical car will it go down as a 2012 regardless or can I defer collection to next year and make it 2013?

They're lending me another Porsche over Christmas to keep me going.
And yes I have taken my time a little haven't I?

Jim, I have mixed feelings on black cars. They are a pig to keep clean but I do like black and the kids always like black so they can call the car a Batmobile!

It has the paddles not switches but that means NO steering mounted controls of other things. Bit of a pain because I find a multi function wheel really useful in the BM.

Really excited now!

I don't think it will make much difference to used values if its a 12 or 13 reg, will still be a 62 plate.
So in that respect I'd have it now, but if they're letting you use one of theirs in this ****ty weather you may as well hang on!

My Spyder was a physical car, unregistered, and I took delivery of it 3 weeks before the new reg came out.
It's made no discernible difference to the trade in value.

Nice!

If it's not already registered then it will be a 2013 car if you wait until Jan.

As for the wheel, the paddles are so much better than the switches and the wheel itself is much nicer too, so it's worth the sacrifice.

Any car built after June is a 2013 model year car. I would wait for march and get JO13 LES for the plate

Thanks.

I've completely lost track of the vehicle reg years tbh. If it's going to be a 62 plate regardless then I suppose as Zip says it makes little difference to resale whether it's registered in 2012 or 2013. But I'd still rather it was a 2013 registered car though!

I wonder whether the stealer is going to push for it to be registered in 2012 so it counts towards their year end sales targets?

Mattee, there is always a degree of luck in these matters. Lots of people work hard but things can conspire against them. So a combination of good fortune and hard graft.

But (and I don't mean to get philosophical!) I'll never see any material possession as why I might be lucky. Real luck is having your health, a faithful partner and healthy children if you choose to have them. But I know as a family man yourself you are very aware of that already, so apologies if that sounds patronising!

Ding; very true indeed. Work is good here at the moment (ballistic in fact) but it can always go **** up. Part hard work, part luck.

Those that decide they are superior through earning well (none on here) are as interesting as granite wind erosion.

Can't wait to hear some more real World opinions on it; far more valuable than magazine guff.

It is a good motivator seeing people you (sort of) know getting lovely motors. I have a feeling you may gel with it rather more than the soot chucking BM!

Will they discount if you register in 2012? If they push for that you want something in return, they will be doing very well indeed out of this sale. Is the new vehicle warranty 2 or 3 years now?

Hodgy, it has the normal 911 spoiler that comes up at speed but not the very nice fixed duck tail spoiler Scott has as an option. I have considered this but significant cost aside I think the duck tail looks best on red and white cars.

Thanks Mattee.

John, I've secured a discount and that's why i think they'll want me to register in 2012. The curious thing is they've not stipulated it in any conversation I've had so far. Whereas when I bought the BM the discount I negotiated was always on the proviso that I would register before a certain date.

I saw that nightrider picture on PH Scott. I wonder if it would look better with the silver alloys?
