Breitling do make quartz watches,the automatic ones are the most desirable though,I wouldn't have a quartz one.

the one in my pics is automatic , but its still a fake. I would like to think there was more to real one , other that if its got a battery its fake.

The problem with buying such an item used is you will always wonder, no matter how many experts have checked it, whether its real. I pondered it for years, then just bought new. Its the only way to be CERTAIN in my opinion.

I think I'd be happy if the watch manufacturer certified it was genuine

just go to the nearest fraser hart and get them to check watch.did same when i was offered a breitling for bentley a while back and was worth getting checked as got a bargain.

I'm not that keen on the watch tbh. Too small. Worth remembering though for when I find a nice aerospace

Hmmm.... There are some amazing replicas nowadays.....


Dunno if I'd believe a trained chimp at Fraser hart's counter.... They're usually minimum wage monkeys who know less than their knowledgable customers.....

However , discard my comment if you had their watchmaker look at it (if they had such a thing)

well funny as the trained chimp at plymouths fraser hart is a breitling specialist as each breitling dealer has to be to sell the watches.

My £110 Casio keeps time to less than a second. Dont see much point in throwing any more cash away.

the right watch can be an investment as well as something nice to wear.i will make money on mine when i sell it.

Mine is worth 3k second hand and will sell easily when the time comes.Bentley breitlings are rare watches.there will always be a market for top watches.

To sell Breitling you have to send a salesperson on a one day course. Great training but doesn't make them an expert unfortunately!

I use independent specialists personally. They tend to value your custom more.

All IMHO of course!

You mean the crown? It's usually on a threaded tube.

Best bet is go to a watch hut, market stall or whatever.

If you go to a dealer, the urban legend is that they don't have to give it you back if it's fake (copyright and intellectual property issues)

If its fake, is it worth paying to repair it though?

They don't need to be wound.they are kinetic so ate self winding.the ****...unscrews and pops out to change time and date.will dig out pics of mine that were took for insurance.can't remember the last time i even wore it.LOL

its a class looking watch , and everyone would say its real. My problem is (with the kenitic winding) is as i dont wear it alot to keep it good so it stops . Then i have to wait untill the time matches what my watch says and start shaking ! lol , mostly i just wear it with the wrong time , THEN i tell people its fake if they ask the time !

i have been going in circles trying to find spares. Even if i did find a spare "crown" and the pin that is attached , would it just clip back in ?
