On that same website, it suggests that only 491 of the 500 WR1's and 289 of the 320 RB320's......do you think people have bought them unregistered and stuck them in the Garage?

Hi Mikey,

Picked it up this morning.....love it already!

Got it wrong, it is number 59. Just couple of quick questions if you don’t mind?

I have never had a new car or needed to run in, so if this is a stupid question I apologise. I have been doing as instructed and not gone over 3k rpm, but I am still get a vague burning smell.......very mild, but smells all the same.

Also, when I unlock the car with the key fob, it only opens the driver door. I have then tried waiting and pressing again to unlock the other doors, but it just locks the car. What am I doing wrong?

Cheers in advance

With running in you should keep the revs low at about 3-4k for the first 1000miles but give it a little boost of 0.5 bar to bed the rings in. just don't hold the boost or do it from low revs in high gears.

With the unlocking, i think if you press once it unlocks the drivers door. If you press twice it unlocks the whole car but the two presses need to be within a second or so of each other and before you open the drivers door.

Not sure of the accuracy of this but my local dealer told me that when the CS was announced, various dealers (including them) put in orders for several cars but once they realised that said cars had to be paid for upfront by the dealer there was some serious back-pedaling! That's apparently the reason that all 75 appeared to be sold shortly after the announcement.

True or not, I couldn't say, but sounds plausible...ish.

Smell is probably exhaust - or you might be riding the clutch too!!! - I did that a couple of times and that does smell!. If it persists after 100 miles or so i;d call the dealer.

Keyfob drives me nuts - one press count 1, 2 second press - voila. Despite knowing this I still manage to not do it more often than I do!....I believe you MAY be able to overide this but I will have to check that again. Drives my wife mad when I dont manage to unlock the car.

more than anything, enjoy!!

Disabling the selective unlocking is a fairly simple procedure which your dealer should know how to do. Just requires a small amount of rewiring so is DIY-able but probably best to let your dealer do it if the car is still under warranty.

Guess they may be scared that if you get someone rob your wallet off your seat as your passenger door is open you will hold them liable!

I'm sure someone on here will tell you how to do it - I thought the keypad could change the settings but i'm probably wrong!

Nothing to do with the keypad, It can be done and has been done I've done several & even subaru sent out the bulletin to the dealers on how to do it ages ago. Not at liberty to divulge that sort of information unfortunately

K'in hell guys!

Bet half of the people moaning about the price have spent a fortune modding.

And comparing it to two RWD cars?

Maybe, just maybe the guy wanted a practical hatch with 4wd, a warranty and nigh on 400bhp.

I think its a great car - I like the interior tweaks and it really does drive and perform like a dream. Not everones cup of tea I know, but it works for me....and I can get the dog in too!!

what interior tweaks does it have?

The seats are just the 08 base STi seats with a retrim IIRC - and not having the 330S/MY11 Recaros in a £50K 'special edition' car is taking the pi55!

The base STi seats are rubbish IMHO, having sat in them daily for the last 3 odd years.

No they are just f**king lazy, you have bought an expensive car off them.... tell them you know they have had a bulletin on how to do it so to get the **** on with it.

Of all the car dealers in the country you would think a Subaru dealer would be the most willing to help seeing as they are selling so few cars right now.

Main dealers boil my p1ss! All, not just Subaru!

I ssssooooo do....but I can wait. Patience is a virtue and all that. At the rate I am going it will only be a couple of weeks or so.

I was having a look through the manual at the Si-Drive and Slip diff Auto (Plus+) and (Minus-) settings.....do you ever use them? Is there anywhere to get a tutorial on it all?
