Have to side with Jack here (much as it pains me to do so ) - OSX is loosely BSD-based, yes, but Linux it certainly ain't. Much closer to your FreeBSD/NetBSD/OpenBSD family.

OK I was stretching things a little, but the BSD (FreeBSD) part of the XNU kernel is *nix based.

And as this looks after things like the network, file system, user accounts, process handling etc. that's a fair chunk of *nix reliance in good old OSX. Probably why it's quite stable.

Yep, a corporate reputation solidly rebuilt on old-fashioned open-source goodness.

Careful, saying things like this is to the Apple disciples is like proving Jesus was just an ordinary bloke to a Catholic.

You still clearly miss the point - even yourself, Darth Windows said you needed to do some basic housekeeping.

Why not just be a user of some services - why in Gods name do I have to pretend to be a computer engineer to use a service like browse photos? Or watch videos? Or surf the interweb?

My ability to do these things is supreme I can assure you - if my device supports that ability then I will praise it. If it requires me to do other things to support that ability then it has failed miserably. This is why the iPad has over 40 million users and you are still blind to the point. It has **** to do with Apple - it has to do with the removal of the 'computer' in the process.

When will you get it is not about being a computer user - it is about the use case.

Just telling the truth... Macs are obviously for people that have limited technical ability and that's OK. It's not a crime to not even have the technical acumen of a retarded baboon. Have a good Christmas, just hope you don't get any presents that need batteries or anything too complex like that LOL!
