Very impressed with it, a powerful device that I haven't had any issues with so far. I plan to install a custom rom soon and really get a proper play with the tablet.

This is a good option for someone who doesn't want to go down the "fluffy devices" Apple route and to be honest most techies will usually opt for something else other than the iPad.

Best bit? I can flash the tablet and install Windows 8 on it, awesome ;-)

 

Thats true a laptop does not give the impression that the person using it is probably a massive **** the same way an ipad does.

 

Then again, some peoples posting style gives away the fact that they are a total ****, regardless of what they actually type on

Personally, if I was in the market for a tablet, it probably would be the ipad.
However, I've got a high-spec Mac lappy - aside from the negligible benefit a touch-screen, the ipad is redundant compared to my laptop.

I appreciate it's all about workFLOW, however, it's a fair wedge of money to pay for something I've, in essence, already got.

That said, imho it's a great iOS for a tablet. Phone? After owning one for 2 years, I'm not convinced. And that is my personal opinion: no slagging me or my opinion off will change that.

A 13" sandybridge intel i7 macbook pro is a very nice bit of kit hardware wise...good CPU/ram spec in a highly compact package. Its especially nice when running win7. I would have one of these anyday over a iphad.

But at four times the price it bloody well should be. And the Display port is a pain in the **** though.....Fancy ommitting to supply a poxy £25 HDMI/DVi adpater lead on a £1000 laptop! Cheapskates!

Everyone knows Apple products are for techno muppets who don't have the tech sense to connect a mixture of better and cheaper products together.

As much as I love reading your rants and technical fact relating to Apple and IOS, I think your best bet is to drop it and not give the fanboys the satisfaction or waste your time arguing with them.

Where did I say anything was "sad" and what does it matter what my thread title is? the thread had facts in it unlike anything Jack has ever posted on the subject.

 

I don't disagree with that statement. But 'techno muppets' covers quite a lot of the world and as I get older I can't be bothered anymore. I even buy games these days rather than download them, apply some crack that may or not work so have to root around etc...

Anyhow, back to Wurzels Trolling topic, seems not many people hate the iPad and even those that do have no good reason.

Oh and f1, yes the BBC are a major, but they don't do **** mate. They do however have some lovely iPad apps and sites made for the iPad.

 

I like it too, probably about as much as Apple like defending their patents.

Oh dear. What a pathetic statement and that coming from someone who works for a major tech company, HP.

Firstly I own Apple products because they do what I want from a device and do it extremely well so I like them purely for that reason. Secondly why the hell would anyone want to carry about a plethora of products that connect together to do the same function that one device can do on it's own perfectly well?

As for tech sense I work for a tech company as well and the Apple products are what I deem to be the best at what I want from a device.

 

It's not about being a technophobe and. Oblong things together to make them work, why bother when I can just buy something that's works out of the box and does what ever I need it to?
The. Cost doesn't worry me I would rather pay extra for a good product than save a few quid and spend my time trying to get devices to work together

 

That statement doesn't mean jot about ability, for example, HP being a major tech company got it so wrong with the Touchpad
