Everything that I've said on here has been correct. Maybe that's what upsets you. iPhone, I was hated for saying it would be great. I was called an idiot for saying the iPad would be a success too. Plus a whole load in between.

Typing this on my iPad on a boat, in rough seas without having to somehow hold a laptop like the other monkeys I'm laughing at.

Have a go at using the Multitouch screen on your Laptop, not easy at laptop angles and anyhow touchscreen Windows is terrible.

So does the iPad just float in mid air conveniently for you then? That'll be what the accelerometer is for

I wonder how many iPad owners use theirs anywhere other than their lounge.

Travel with mine a lot and take on photo shoot days away, great for reviewing and minor editing while in a hotel at night.

I recently went away on a business trip and for the first time decided to leave the laptop behind, didn't miss it one bit

It's kind of magic, I just think then my hand grabs it and keeps it in the perfect place. Bay of Biscay will be rough tonight, IPad will come in handy for sure. Navigation is another area where the iPad trounces Laptops so I'll be having fun with that between movies. Art of Flight first £9.99 on iTunes.

So you have to write emails one-handed?

And you call that progress?

Mine doesn't l,eave the house, that's why I got the wifi only model as I always knew that would be the case, I will take it on holiday though to use in hotels.

It doesn't need to leave the house because it is synced with my iPhone via iCloud so I have the same content on both, that's why I like apple

Nah you got me wrong, you can't use it for that as it has woeful video format support and a fairly low res screen No, I used it as a tea tray..... Apple seemed to think I shouldn't and told me to leave, I told them I had just invented a new use for it.... I call it iTtray

Other than the odd news video on BBC I rarely come across a video or flash issue on the iPad. In six months ownership it has let me down once - I needed to check in online and the airline I was with had a flash enabled website.

Compared to a Wintel laptop that let's me down daily with it unutterable sh*tness - and nothing to do with being tough - it's just horrible to use, slow, clunky, unreliable and sh*t.

Haribo are important! Anyway, could be discussions about cream cakes but I think that would be on the Renault Espace site

I don't understand why anyone 'needs', any of these things. Each to their own but they seem to make a simple life so complicated just for the need to take lots of pictures, listen to music and watch films

It's peculiar how the only people who ever seem have all these problems with Windows machines are Apple users. Some sort of self justification going on there I guess.

I have a 2003 desktop PC here still going strong, has never not booted first time and is in use every day and a Dell laptop that at 4 years old is performing as it did when I bought it and that is after dragging it half way round Asia about 5 times.

Funny isn't it?

P.S. I also have a 5 year old Mac that is performing perfectly and tbh I don't have a preference for eithr Mac or Windows ... they both do more or less the same thing to me.

Funny that - my Wintel systems were equally sh*t before I got any Apple equipement and we used to think that Nokia smartphones were the pinnacle of technical achievement.

These things haven't got any worse - but we didn't know any better.

Now we do.

It is a user issue - I used to spend time doing all the things you need to do to keep a Wintel system in reasonable shape. Now I realise that not being a computer engineer that that is a complete waste of my time and there is a better way - freeing up more time to post on here

Doing all the things you need to do to keep a Wintel (sic) machine in shape... like what? Mine runs a few updates in the night sometimes and an occasional defrag and that's it... I just use it. Have done for 8 years. What's the issue?

You also said your Wintel equipment was unreliable yet mine isn't (and nor is my Mac).

So you either chose really bad equipment or are some sort of spacktard and have no idea what you are doing.... I'll let you decide which
