You made the right choice...... didnt you??
ENJOY IT!!!!

Lol, Im looking to trade my scooby in for a Mercedes.
Shame really as the scooby is a nice car but with its fuel consumption and the price of petrol its time to rethink...although it would embarrass a R8 on the open roads thats for sure.

Had the power to get past anything quickly and safely. The noise from that V8 at high revs is just brilliant. Had to have the windows down when driving through towns, just to hear the rumbling of the V8.
Driving through Keswick, Ambleside, and Bowness, it was constantly getting looked at. Blokes were nudging there other halves, while pointing at the car. All with smiles on their faces. It certainly is a head turner.
Only one person frowned upon it. A TT-S driver. Say's it all.
Made a pleasant change from the looks I had when owning a Subaru.
Oh yes.

Took it for a good drive over the Lakes yesterday. The 370Z I had was a nice car, but this thing is just on another level. Just awesome.

Really, really lovely car mate. See a few of them in up here in Edinuburgh, and they really are exceptional in the metal. They really do carry that "Supercar" stance.
No doubt you'll enjoy it.

Nice motor stilover
Hope you enjoy it
And don't give a **** about the muppets, they're only jealous
That can't be right
I started with a VW Beetle, and currently have a Golf Mk2 16V and an XR4i. My Legacy was one of only 3 non-German built cars I've ever owned
Yet MrsD reckons whilst I'm definitely getting old, I'm nowhere near even slightly growing up
Hope you enjoy it

You lucky g!t sti
I must admit when they first came out I wasnt that taken with them but had a few fastlaps in the V8 at trackday and was mightly impressed. Before I went in it I was suprised that it sounded hooning around the track compared to a 360 and Aston V8. Even more surprised when it came in the pits and I saw it was the V8 version.
Chap at work has a V8 in white with black blades. Looks spot on. Also love the look of the Spyder.

Lovely car well done!
I was lucky to have a drive in one when they were first released. V8 auto. Felt like the guy in Iron Man! I was seriously impressed with speed, sound etc. Unless you drove F1 at the weekends you could not say it lacks performance. More than you can fully exploit on the road. A definite supercar albeit it 'junior league' if there is such a thing.
I'd agree that it's horses for courses between one and a Porsche. I've driven the 997 turbo and 996.2 gt3 and personally I prefer the 911 out of rawness but that's just me.

absolutley love the looks of these, yours is stunning.
possibly a bit underpowered for the supercar looks, but imagine its more than enough for most.
audi bring one every year to race the runway events and they do sound very good!
very jealous, enjoy.

Thanks for all the positive comments everyone.
Had it out last weekend for a bit of a drive around. Trying to get out and about in it before winter sets in.

love r8's...
As said, enjoy the car. Bit late on this thread , but its kind of throwing up the GTR versus r8/rio vs. porsche debate, which is interesting to hear from owners not biased media types !
I for one ,cannot overcome the vfm of my classic impreza or the dc5 i drive.
Perhaps I'm not grown up yet!?
