Pick up the R8 tonight
As title.
Sold my 370Z last weekend, so with my finances in place, I bought the car off my Dad for a very favorable price.
Insurance sorted today, so picking it up tonight.
Cannot fooking wait.

Congrats on your purchase, is it the V8 or V10? Manual or R-tronic? What colour?
Some used R8s out there that look very good value for money! The only problem is the car is all fart and no poo

V8 Manual. Black with Silver side blades. 8054 miles.
Might not be as quick in a straight line as the V10, but it is lighter and is better in the bends.
Might upgrade to the V10 in a few years.

Just got in from having a nice drive out in it. Chuffed to bits with it.
The noise alone from that V8 puts a smile on my face. Had a Clio 200 drive past me on the Dual carriage way with it's passenger window down.
Will give it a good wash and get some pics up shortly.

I love the fact that even when talking 100k supercars you are trying to talk it up - as if needs it

Nice 1,
I've always loved the looks of the R8, it has a lot of road presence but it is usually driven by ladyboy posers
Is it a supercar? Not in V8 guise, I dont think it is, performance is good but not great as the 4.2 V8 generally kicks out around 400hp. It's a thirsty bugger and its in the top VED band so it's certainly not cheap to run.
Saying all that, stunning looking motor so enjoy
Put some pics up when you can.

It is mid engined and doesn't share its chassis with a rather hateful shopping car. Those are far more important features than its outright acceleration which is probably quicker than many things that have been called supercars anyway. The fact it costs significantly more to buy and run compared to said shopping cars only adds to the likelihood of it being considered a supercar.
It has attitude in terms of how low and wide it is, the concept/exotic looks, the V8 noise. It is so much more than other cars with a tweak that may accelerate similarly.

Its a super car by its design brief, however it dramatically falls short of that title because of the way that brief has been executed......IMO
