Don't start this rubbish again, they may 'pay' tax but they do not make a net contribution to the exchequer.

The government could for example, cut their pay by an amount equal to the tax they pay, then give them a dispensation to pay no tax. The public sector workers would still the same money to spend and the exchequer would be no poorer.
