Here are the really interesting pictures... Been busy helping a friend do some work in his house... rewiring, plastering and sanding floors... **** me do my arms ache from the belt sander... we tried our own version of belt sander racing (Did anyone see that on jackass, when he strapped his feet to two?)
Anyway pics of reducer.. (From turbo to aluminium tubing)

David,
I've just read 11 pages with interest, I'd just like to give you a small tip, put a bead of weld around the end of all the aluminium tubes, this will stop the hoses coming off under pressurem my mate had this problem with his mini, half way down Santa pod drag strip, no boost= very poor time.
Excellent work, your garage looks just like mine, only tidier! and b4 you ask, no I don't have a tig welder!

Well there is another David Wallis.. also working in IT then mate!!
Bizarre...
Keep the project going it is interesting.. I feel like I am in your garage reading the updates..
Wagons rule, so glad to see you are keeping up the high powered wagon front..
I might add DIY intercooler water spray to mine but that is as far as the DIY goes at the minute..

Not done much but some different pics...
Showing Hose Reducer and ally tubing sort of in place... Had to move one of the connectors for the engine, and alter the bracket that the clutch spring goes to...
Injector Rail in Place but a bit concerned about the heat and the fuel hose... may have to get something to go over this... will wait and see if the car blows up first
Really hope I dont have to make a right angled fuel line connection here....
Didnt mean to upload this one, but what the heck it can stay... that is the inside of a 94uk Ecu..

Cheers.
I was thinking something similar to the power steering hose cover?
I also need to get some big P clips to secure the hoses.

Not directly related but close !!! TD05 with front entry on MY95 You know you want to do this David
Charge cooler water rad (looking suspiciously like a lightweight OE air con rad with modified end tanks)
(Must get a decent camera )

When you coming down to leeds then to help with mine... Ill pay for the hotel
What did you use for the spacers (are the 20mm) are they phenolic or whatever...
YHM by the way..
I have too many ideas... as long as I get more power than you just bought a uprated anti roll bar... drop links, set of slicks, and a spare gear lever to make a quick shift out of.... other than that nothing new apart from wanting 400 bhp...

You'll pay hotel if I buy the drink haha !! I don't earn enough M8 !!!
My spacers are 2 piece (Laminated is a nice word but they're not) 19mm of alloy and 10 mm of a plastic that doesn't transmit heat very well at all all jointed by (nasty oooh they'll kill you) asbestos joints, which are also excellent insulators
I got the plastic from work, I should be able to ID it in the RS catalogue when I get back to work on Mon. I'll keep you posted.
Now after a thrash, the manifold stays cool. Even after the car has been sitting hot with the bonnet down, the manifold is just luke warm (35 deg) instead of the 85+ it was before when it acted as an interheater

Any chance of mailing me some more details about how you cut the spacers??
How did you attach to the front of the turbo.. have you welded a sleeve in or is threaded / just a tight fit?

Manifold spacers ? Chain drilled and then mini burr.
Turbo inlet - 2" stainless steel pipe is an interference fit in the inlet bore, gives a seamless change from alloy - steel pipe. It is then secured radially by 3 x 6mm grub screws through the turbo inlet.
I'll try and get more pics as I can hear you say WTF
