Ohh dear, sorry if I offended you Mr Wallis by asking about your ban,
Just I'm in the same predicament (a little less of a "break" for me tho, got 42 days for 108 on an empty motorway on a sunny sunday afternoon !!!!!! bloody jobsworth )
It was really hard going to castle coombe in the pasenger seat of my own car at the weekend, watching them all scream round the track, which by the way gave me the " I must do this track thing"
and today came the start of the modification spend. Suspension first, then brakes and finally engine
You can't be that much of a nutter Mr Wallis, I had the 150bhp jet in my nitrous system (same make as you) on my last car (pug 2.0l 16v)
now get on with the FMIC

P.s I don't understand why you won't be driving this car after all the effort you are putting into it (i.e you said you'll sell it before your ban is up ??????? )

Not offended!!

I never said that I was going to sell the car... Im going to use it on a track... there are certain tracks which dont require a driving licence..

Anyway... Paul... Car is still insured.. (well sort of..)

My Sheep would never question my judgement!
(Except with regards to my bolting in of seats, perhaps)

You fitted that NOS kit yet, David?

Just think: a little 'accidental' loose hose and suddenly your car will be the funniest thing around....so will everyone elses.

And a quarter mile in under 13.2 seconds will be hysterical.

Hmmph. Just been looking at measuring charge temperatures: easiest wasy is to build a 'multi-thermometer' with bits from Maplin. Unfortunately, if mine is correct, my inlet temperature is -40C, my post turbo temp is +650C, and my post charge-cooler temp is 130C.

Anyone think I should have soldered the chip in last?
If I actually get this f_*ing piece of poo working do ya want one dave?

WHY do I try and design my own circuits? WHY?

oh..BTW....if this is a track car..you could put a digital racing dash in it....................

wanking aside
It might make you feel better if I tell you it's not my first ban, infact I think I've lost count.
Lol, even had a laser gun pointed at me in the third day of owning the new scoob, my **** is still twitching when the postman comes
yes, yes I know it's not funny or clever, just have to deal with it, only 15 days to go
sorry for bringing it up and all that.
can we get back on topic now.

have you had nitrous before, specifically the nitrous express kit you have at the mo, I have found that this kit is very crude.
Would advise a re-think if you havn't used it before, think about buying the other make (dark bottles) NOS???? I forget the name.
more controllable / progressive than the express kit.
I would show you the pistons from my Pug after express kit had their wicked way with them, 1 crown blown clean off from first ringland, only thing holding it together was the strips of steel cast within the ally 3 were fine.
next time a different cylinder but it had melted the piston clean through around the top ringland also big crack around skirt but stayed together this time, first impressions on the other 3 pistons were that they were ok but could not remove rings, had compressed crowns down and ring gaps had closed up trapping rings all 4 knackered this time....result, sold pug bought scooby

Well said that man.

Prefer 7 or 8 bottles of wine over dinner to the pub, but apart from that wholeheartedly concur.

Btw, what kind of name is well hung anyway?

David: keep it up.
If I had 6 months to do an FMIC in, it would take 6 months, regardless of how long it really took.

Now bugger off down the pub and have a nice time away from the likes of us!

cheaper than a downpipe!!!!

(geddit? cat? bag? cat? no?)

Dave...am still trying to figure out what is wrong with my thermometer.(s). Will bung you a nice JPG of the schematic as soon as I know it is not shark food. (Carp......no?)

Please keep posting! This is possibly one of the best threads on the net (for anyone with a flat 4) cos not many people are brave enough to rip off their inlet manifold AND take pictures of the carnage.

And I don't think I will ever pluck up the courage to crack my ECU open.
So please please keep up the good work.

BTW...I drilled a bunch of holes in my dash and fitted some blue LEDs behind the dials. Now I need to fit some red ones (for the numbers and the red bit on the tacho) and some yellow ones (for the dials) and all those VW Golfs can go away. I am so proud.
