lol nope, never got a call yesterday to say it was there.
Tried phoning this morning, 'Jason' the sales rep wasn't available and I'm waiting on his boss to phone "and give me an update on where the car is and likely to arrive".

Honestly, you wouldn't think it so difficult would you?! I should have just driven down to Swindon to see it rather than go through this pain! and have very little confidence in these shower of sh...ts

I phoned an hour ago.
They really can't be that busy that someone can't phone me back about about the £38k car I want to buy!?
The longer I wait, the angrier I'm getting and closer to telling them to forget it.

lol everytime I moan about them not calling they do so within 20 mins of me posting.
Anyway, I'm told by 'John' that it has just literally been delivered to site.
So, I'm still going over to look and drive it but it would have to be perfect for me to want to buy it from them.

Make sure that the servicing is up-to-date, Nissan can be a right PITA about it. And the life of the brakes and tyres....

Enjoy....

Watch out on your test drive, yesterday I was sat in traffic, lads walked past gave some appreciation as they crossed the road, still looking back at GTR as he continued into oncoming traffic and took a tumble from Qashqai coming the other way!

to be honest on buying my Scooby it took me 5 dealers till I got 1 that gave a f';'k the rest were arrogant and just tried either lifting my leg or were the type of salesmen who should have been selling potatoes on leeds market.

personally take it for a test drive then ring around, many many out there, find a nice dealer who looks after you.

the one I used was great he even bought my wife some flowers and she didn't even come with me to pick it up.

and he also gave me one of his special biscuits out of his drawer.

10/10 S&S services Ayr, 250 miles out of my way but worth the trek.

I'm back!!

wow, just WOW. I've been in some quick cars in my time but that thing is on another level.
Checked through all the docs, full history done at 6 monthly intervals. Has had the bell housing done and been to Litchfields a couple of times too. Car has that clear film stuff on the front of it so pretty much blemish free.
However..... man it's loud, maybe because I'm coming from a diesel BMW that I've been wafting around in for 2 years. One of the things that's been done my Litchfields is the Y-Pipe replacement. It's not too loud cruising at motorway speeds, but incredibly boomy even just gently accelerating from standstill.
Couldn't see in the documentation whether the gearbox software had been updated but it was pretty juddery pulling away. In gear changes were fine.
Found the ride fine in Normal mode.
I have 2 concerns, the wife unfriendly noise it makes and that the lad could fit comfortably in the back. He's just coming up to 4, and I put the passenger seat as far forward as to where I felt comfortable (I'm 5'8") and there was only a small gap between the the back seat and the passenger seat.
Wifey has 2 main stipulations, 1) it's not stupidly noisy and 2) we can all fit comfortably in it, everything else she doesn't care about.

Gearbox updates are aftermarket - COBB or ECUTek so won't be documented

Surprised to hear you say boomy....does car have aftermarket exhaust on?

Ahh there's your problem....rear seats are only good for transporting race helmets or storing jackets!

Couldn't see anything in the documentation about the exhaust other than the Y-pipe being replaced and something about resonators?

If I just had to think about me, there wouldn't be a problem I'd be back there signing the papers.

They've just rung me, won't hold it until Friday for me (for when I can get back over there with wifey and boy) so going back on general sale.

Yes if you have an un-resonated y-pipe with stock DPs and Cat back system it is a little boomy on cruise.....

Wonder if anyone has put the stock one back on to quiet them down again or would I be the first GTR owner to do so?
Might ring Litchfields, they've had problems with their phones today of all days.

Stock y-pipe and exhaust is like a whisper.....the good news is there are some aftermarket ones that are incredibly quiet as well.....my 102mm GTC Titan not being of that variety! lol

I have just fitted a russ Fellows Y pipe and system , and it is not boomy at all , it could be a bit noisier really , I wanted something that was better than standard but not OTT , it sounds great

Ian, do you still have the stock pipe?
If the car was whisper quiet it would help with the wife lol

I do but I'm keeping everything to put it back to standard when I come round to selling it
There are a few standard exhausts up for sale on the forum or ebay

I think the plan of action is to start negotiations with the wife, see if we can all fit in it then if that's ok, go find one in stock form (which to be fair I thought this one was as there wasn't anything listed on the information in the advert).

Showed her the pics I took of it... "It looks like an upmarket boy racers car". She's dead set against me buying it from the CarShop but is willing to go try it for size on Friday (if they haven't sold it by then of course!)

Make the lad sit behind the passenger seat and move that forward further than the driver's seat

I think the time has long since gone since the wife was willing to have her legs up by her ears in the passenger seat of a car (with me at least )

I run down pipes and a silenced ypipe (sounds almost stock and without the cats ). Keeps the car nice and quiet at low revs and around town, then the down pipes come in at 3.5k RPM and make some noise no booming

Sounds like you don't you have the gearbox updates and it does make quite a difference....
