From what you're all saying then, if that car had got a standard exhaust on it then I'd have only had to get over the hurdle of making sure I could get the boy in the back.
Annoying cause it was a nice example, previous owner had taken good care of it. Had armourfend on the front etc too. However, I'm not spending £38k just to then spend another shed load just to make it quieter, especially as there are quite a few on sale.
Found another fairly local, not sure why I didn't see it before?

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...6-2010/1399300

It's a premium edition, not the black version. Doesn't seem to have the BOSE stereo but has the sat nav. Might just knock the CarShop one on the head and take the family to see the PremiumEd one (avoiding the hard sell at CarShop!)

I have a premium edition , the only difference is black seats instead or red and black , i think the red and black looks a bit max power lol , it has a light headlining instead of black , and a lighter colour wheels , I guess it's no big deal between the two , just down to preference on the seat colour.
Mine does have the Bose system fitted , can't tell you what it's like yet as my stereo doesn't work which is a common thing , so am waiting for it to go into the dealer to have it changed under warranty , it's going in Monday . They have extended the warranty on the stereo to 5 years even if the warranty has ran out , they are also doing recalls on steering lock , again mine is being done on Monday.

The room in the back is non existant ! Hopefully it's enough for you so you can have one

All the pics you see of the rear seats must have the front seats pushed as far forward as poss Lol I had imagined they'd be like the rear seats in a mini where they're deceptively deep so you can still use them.
I'm no audiophile so probably couldn't tell the difference between the Bose and standard.
The all black seats might be less 'boy racer' for the wife to deal with lol

I like my "boyracer" seats.... especially since my car is red.

Exhaust is an easy fix, lots of options, so dont worry about that one.

The bose sound system is not that good, but there is an easy fix.... I have this in my car and the difference is huge. Just makes the sound system so much more useable.

I can see it now Nean, you and the wife in the car, lad with the grandparents crying cos hes just turned 5 and cant fit in the back,

LOL ( sorry just playing devils advocate ) hehe

Now I,ll tell you this, my Wife is one of those women if I ask her she can have any car in the world she would turn to me and say id like a white one, or if some robbers sped off from a bank job she would say the car was blue, she has no idea at all.

So for her to say a cars nice is something of an 8th wonder of the world. But on the odd occasion she has ive taken notice. and it has happened

Once to this model and colour which I personally think is the Best... they look awesome when fully polished real head turner. there is a full chrome one near me in Leeds but it looks a bit ****

Black one all the way

Well I've just spoken to Dove House and the difference between them and CarShop is night and day. Couldn't have been more helpful.
It's completely unmodified so I'm going down to take it for a test drive to check the noise aspect.

Just a tune on an otherwise standard GTR is good for 580-600bhp with similar ftlbs....enough to see off most things on road

I'm back!!! part 2

Noticeably quieter, much more civilized/wife friendly.
Sadly, not quite as good a condition as yesterdays. Bit of a dink in the bonnet and scratches on the B pillar drivers side.
Didn't like the interior as much as the black edition, the panel in the middle was quite scratched. I know we're only talking Nissan plastics here, but even so.
However, the company, I wouldn't have any concerns from buying a car from them. They're happy for me to go back with the boy to try it for size, even though I told them I wasn't that keen on the car due to it's condition.

Don't kid yourself.... Parts from Nissan will be expensive! Even the cheaper plastic bits.....

Debating whether to get mine carbon wrapped or covered in alcantara, swaying to the latter at present.

The carbon wrap is a good fix... I did it to all the silver interior bits on mine, because I hated the reflection.

The boy fits!
Wife isn't a fan of the car though. Not surprising but she's not putting her foot down yet.

Ian, that centre console looks great, did you wrap it yourself?

If you meant my centre console (don't see pics from Ian), then it was done by ValetMagic. I'm tempted to give plastic koting a go.

I can't get the CarShop gtr out my head. Do you experienced owners know the rough cost of swapping the Y-pipe? Thinking of offering a swap on the gtr forum, the loud y-pipe for their standard if they pay for fitting?

Mine isn't a wrap , it's a carbon piece that's fits over the top of the original surround , it's real carbon , they are very well made , not cheap though

From what I understand it really doesn't take that long. It's easily accessible.

Hmm tried twice to register on GTRoc but don't get the activation email to be able to validate and post. I thought these things are pretty much instant? Perhaps fate is trying to tell me something.

The Y pipe would be very easy to change , can be done in less than an hour , it only took me a couple of hours to change my whole system on my own .

Sly does the ypipe in about 15 minutes I think. I was going to keep the non res and swap for quiet one on track days, but now used to the quiet one.

Honestly not sure on price. It was done as part of a bundle.... Wrap, detail, ypipe, etc. but doubt it will be that expensive....200-400 something like that.

I wanted a matte finish to stop sunlight reflecting.

Curve ball to perhaps make the wife a bit happier, I'm gonna try a C63 tomorrow.
