Sounds like you had fun. Agree Mizuno must be on to something with the weight, also the fact the weight distribution is so well balanced.
Even when out of control, the car still feels in control if you know what I mean.

Great day out on track, good to see you Graham. I was black flagged pretty much immediatley for 107db, and like graham was already shortshifting due to the frosty morning conditions. Still managed to enjoy time on track just coasting past the noise meters. Couple of vids from my car out on track and couple from a photoshoot convoy on Friday....hope you enjoy 'em (first time using the GoPro)

Its very progressive on the limits, great to get it back on track and remind myself of what the thing is really capable of!

Having said that a friend who also owns a GTR took himself and 3 passengers to Europe comfortably, so it is possible

i'm 6'3, have seat the whole way back and i couldn't fit a newspaper in the alleged space where the proposed passenger's legs should go....so my GTR is a three seater

A friend had a GTR and they are similiar in the back to 991's. Okay for short distance passenger rides unless you are all midgets. I am 6 foot 2 and when I positioned my seat my teenage daugter couldn't fit in. The boot size is good though, especially compared to the 991 .

Thanks.
I tried one a couple of years ago and it wouldn't work, but this was when both kids were in full on bulky child seats.
They are now 4 and 6 and only use boosters, so perhaps it might work?
I'll go and have a look, but I'm not hopeful.

Update on the car... its still covered in snow, but I need to dig it out for its service at the beginning of Feb and for some small mods:-
* gearbox cooler
* silenced ypipe - trying to save a few DBs for track days
* braided brake lines
* uprated brake fluid
I am sure Alloy will be a long with updates to his car, of which there are a few
Sent them a message, but the GTR parts are a little pricey.

Ouch ! Expensive. Try JDL Brakes, I order from them all replacements for my STI Alcons , best prices and great support. http://www.jdl-brakes.com

Which cooler are you going for Graham? I tried the KR (dodson replica) one and my temps went up 10degrees so it came straight off!
Mine went back into the shop over Christmas to be fiited with:
-SVM Stage 2 ball bearing IHI turbos
-Intercooler hardpipe kit
-twin 400lph fuel pumps
-ANSU 1050cc injectors
-SVM/GTC inlet suction pipes
-80mm Intake kit and larger filters
The best part of this addition is the Speed Density tune by Ben at GTC, car is so much smoother. The new turbos spool super quick and just kick throuygh the whole rev range where as the OEM blowers started losing their fizz around 5/5.5k
Engine shot and some other shots by one of my mates:

its only running 1.2/1.3 bar, when i open the engine we can run 1.8bar and these turbos should make maybe 780-800bhp and 800ftlbs+. I think Graham is probably about right at the moment it's maybe 700-720bhp ish torque capped around maybe 620ftlbs. I'm going to try and get down to my mates dyno tomorrow morining but if not will get it down to Surrey Rolling Road in the next couple of weeks

I'm never gonna be in the position to have to answer that question
What's the ballpark figure for a "built" GTR engine? I assume it will make a Scoob rebuild look like pennies?

for upto 850bhp you could do minimum rods for 3/4k or add forged pistons for maybe 6k in total. If you want all singing all dancing engine for 1000bhp its probably 12-18k depending on spec. Anything above 850bhp and simiilar torque you then looking at additional expenses of full gear set, clutches etc and maybe looking at diffs
I think aiming for a responsive 800/800 car is probably the perfect sweet spot in terms of value for money and driveability.
