Not heard of the line pressure sensor issue on UK cars, perhaps maybe an issue with 2008 JDM and 09 US cars?

If i had a stock GTR I would still mod it the same (620bhp) and keep the transmission stock. I am an exception to the rule but in general there have been exceptionally few issues with transmission on GTRs save as for the LC1 wheel hop grenading them but that is now outdated software. If you want to run custom LC with power over stock and have peace of mind then beef up the gearbox, but to be honest even if you break it the cost to repair and reinforce will be only marginally more than the cost of preventative mods so personally I would take the risk.....

Thanks mate, so it's just the syncros that 'can' be an issue for dealers to replace box?

I doubt a syncro issue will be picked up by a dealer as they don't have the training and/or authority to open up gearboxes and considering this year they have overshot their warranty budget by what I'm lead to believe some 600% they will try to wriggle out of it unless it severely impairs the cars function ( mine didn't just a whine noise and slight clunk on engaging the gear in question)

The reason they have done their plums in on warranty budget as all the first cars Into the country are coming towards warranty expiring so everyone basically tries to get their bell-housing replaced. Nissan now had widened the parameters of what is and is not replaceable under warranty having tested a car in Japan and noting no further detriment due to the problematic bell-housing

I need a beef up gearbox because the sensation of launching this car is just too addictive......it was a matter of time until I stripped 1st gear or popped a clip off! Lol

However despite this both my failures not due to abuse I've thrown at my box so as stock they are strong, thankfully issues with them are uncommon and relatively easy on the purse to rectify, but the Internet and scare mongering would lead you to believe otherwise

This is it, I'm doing too much research and Internet reading and that's what's scaring me lol, I also ask as a mate had his box replaced too under warranty, he said his mates were driving it crazy until I did some searches on Internet and found it to be a common problem, so think I might weigh all the ideas in and see if my budget will allow me to get one fingers crossed
But thanks for your advise, cheers

Booster seat are slimmer if I'm right only ask because of that pillar in the middle, just want to make sure its comfortable for baby seat as their a bit wider, just need to make sure how practical it is.
Only thing I won't be able to fit in is bobbie the Rottweiler

Not sure, but think it would fit.

You could remove the passenger seat and have "bobbie" lie down in the open space

Went up to Silverstone on Friday night and meet up with some of the guys from the GTR club (including Alloy) for an early start on Saturday morning, sign-in was at 07:20 and briefing was at 08:20, but thanks to the great frost we had everything ran late. Once the track thawed, managed to get out for a few sighting laps with our instructor, 18 year old Jake Hill. Wow!!! What a fantastic driver and tutor he is!!

Track was very slippery, I was very nervous, since car has only just passed 7000 miles (on the way home) and this was my first proper track day. A lot more cars than I expected, so spent the first session learning the lines and the braking zones. We were on the full GP circuit, so a very technical course, but very entertaining. Jake took me out in my car first, to show me the line and talk me through it all. The afternoon sessions were much better as a lot of the traffic had cleared I got to finally see what the GTR was capable of in my hands :taped:

GTR was fantastic on track!! The car was just so good!!! I got a couple of big slides, out braking myself and the car was a bit of a handful at times. Got 2 noise warnings days limit was 102db and in my first stint they recorded 106.xDB on 2 laps. So had a nice marshall wanting to have a chat with me.... scary thing is that the car was running low boost (0.5-0.7bar) and I was short shifting. So chilled where the noise is measured for the 2nd stint and then for the 3rd, really opened her up (short video of this is coming)

Called it a day, when I started to lose focus and concentration.... the instructor and I noticed this when I completely missed my braking zone for the 1st corner and had to use a fair bit of run-off

Here are some pics:-

And videos (some are still uploading, will add as and when they are ready):-

Yes its a black edition

Running costs are not too bad, until you hit the track went through huge amounts of fuel and may need to replace the brakes.

If you stay away from Nissan dealers and use quality specialists its a little more expensive to run than my 400bhp scooby was. Only because base parts are more expensive.... something sad have a "GTR tax"

Getting from the standard 500bhp to 610-630 is not very expensive at all.

Im look at the Alcon 400m discs, which are £650 for each disc, so will need 2 for the front, then pads all round £500, braided lines £100 and fluid £50.

It was VERY busy in the morning session, but the afternoon sessions were much better. A lot less slower cars, so got to open up the GTR in the corners

Its not bad, but they are very good and most run these larger Alcons for fast road and track - they are very good!

GTRs seem to defy physics. Yes they are powerful but the numbers they get both off the line and around tracks are astonishing, especially as they are very heavy.

I reckon there's a flux capacitor somewhere in that engine bay...

Agree, its very quick down the straights, but the speed I could carry into the corners was just silly and that is compared to stripped out race cars!

Maybe Mizuno is right about the weight and the science behind it
