Your Notebook is based on which CPU?
Some CPU have energy saving mods in BIOS,take look for these features..

I would try next bet is switch to different AV,Avira is good or have look for test,MS Security Essential is also good...

AVG uses too much memory and really slowing down PC's,which we are tested in our company few months ago.

If you can afford to pay for AV software then it really is worth it. I use Chrome and I love it.

I think the best thing to do is to not open as many pages at once

I have BOTH Avira and AVG running concurrently!

Would this be an issue? Shall I uninstall AVG and just run Avira?

There's no need to run two AV software.

Two AV is too much, try run just one and if you are go on "dangerous" websites use Sandboxie.

I have good results with Avira which don't use too much memory and don't slowing internet connection or don't slowing PC's.

Okay, I'll uninstall AVG.

Then I'll install and run Spybot for good measure...
