Web Browsers,Internet Ex 9 vs Google chrome
As above i recently got internet explorer 9 but have been having all sorts of problems with it,i.e very slow loading pages(especially Sc.net!)crashing and having to re-load or re-fresh all the time and generally just being very slow,so i thought i would try Google Chrome after being recomended by a mate, well WOW!! is all i can say what a difference, very quick at start up,quick at loading pages,no re-loading or re-freshing at all (so far!)so just thought i'd post and let anyone else who is having the same problems as i did to give it a go,i'm well happy now
Nick.

I have tried loads of browsers and Chrome is the one I settled for.
Firefox is good but once you add all the extras it starts to slow down, might as well keep it simple. Personal preference.

Yes I have no idea what Microsoft did to IE9 but it doesn't like Scoobynet and quite a few other sites: It appears that the browser misses the "stream" command from a webpage and just sits around as if the page hadn't responded.
I still use IE9, but will swap to Chrome in frustration sometimes.

I use all 3 still. IE8 for work based stuff, chrome for most personal browsing and firefox for scoobynet. I prefer the order of the tab opening for scoobynet in firefox due to the habits I got into when site performance was poor. Chrome always opens new tabs at the end and when you follow a link in firefox, it goes back to the previous tabe you were on whereas chrome always drops to the end tab!

IE9 is very fussy over certain web standards and sites break very easily in it. SN is a good example of a site where the code is actually not very good and requires the browser to make up for its shortcomings. To be fair to MS they have been moaned at for years for being too loose in the standards depatment so we can hardly moan now when they go the other way.
For me Opera is great, IE8 or Firefox are fine and Chrome is OK (although still a little buggy) and then there's Safari... oh dear!
