People don't have any trouble congratulating Apple for their achievements, but you would have us believe that they invented everything to do with IT!

Not sure how you work that one out, Apple do some good, I post here about it and every Tom, Dick and Bill get the **** about it. They then proceed to roll out the same garbage about Apple users being sheep and Apple being nothing but a marketing machine. Once that clap trap has no effect then it's onto me being a Fanboy.
I've never posted anything but the truth regarding Apple. They did change the Smartphone market, the iPad is a resounding success, the Desktop App store is a new and groundbreaking way of delivering paid and free software, iTunes has changed the music industry, Mac's are less hassle than some random machine running Windows.

Yet people post up refutation of your claims and you simply ignore them. Your rhetoric is more at home in politics than reality.
Some of your claims are ok, no one doubts that Apple have done some good stuff, they are innovative company. On the other hand, they virtually plagiarise other peoples work, stand on the shoulders of giants, whatever you want.
I'm not saying that's a bad thing, lots of companies do, but it's not ground breaking.
As for Macs being hassle free, as I earlier pointed out, it's not hard when you have a closed shop. Anyone can make a hassle free machine if they control the software and the hardware.
Get Apple to open up the Mac to everyone and their dog, let OSX run on a plethora of different hardware configurations, see how well it does then. I think you already know the answer to that one.
I almost admire your determination in the face of so many people who point out your innaccuracies, it takes a special kind of self denial.

What inaccuracies, if you mean people on here saying "Windows does that" or "My Blackberry is better" or "My iRiver is better" then surely F1Fanny will be along to tell you that's opinion not fact.
And what's wrong with writing the software and producing the hardware, it works and it works well, why on earth would they change that? Put Windows on a Mac and you can have all the hassle you want.

Apple fanboi's do sound religous, almost evangelical in their fervour for the company/products
and eventually discussions do just get polarised, it is like arguing evolution with creationist

Or, who wants a a botnet of a few thousand machines?
People don't generally have a problem with Apple, it's the ridiculous love affair people have with their products that rubs people up the wrong way.
I see it in photography too, it's a tool, get over it, wake up and smell the coffee!!!

Again, what claims that I have made that are inaccurate? Can you show me facts that refute my opinion? Let's take the latest one, the Desktop App store, I say it's groundbreaking and a first in the industry, am I right or am I wrong. Show me another operating system with a built in way of *buying* applications and keeping them up to date.
I don't have a problem with people not liking Apple it's the ridiculous amount of time they spend trying to put Apple down that rubs me up the wrong way.

Posted exactly the same to EH52 earlier in this thread. People that spend so much time immersed in their equipment and how god it is generally have not a clue how to use it in my experience.

It is for people who know what they are doing, you most likely do it via repositories.

Oh you mean Apt-Get, syntax is very important. They don't take credit cards and can you imagine your average computer users finding it usable? Fine for me and you - if you spell it correctly - to install some free software, but a nightmare otherwise.

No, Advanced Packaging Tool, otherwise known as appget. It doesn't matter if the average user couldn't/can't use it, that is why repositories exist, the example was to show Apple was not the first to do it, not by a long way.
Why do you feel the need to get your credit card out all the time? I don't know if you understand what Linux is all about, but the average to high skilled professional, in which ever field, can get all the programs he needs and wants for free and this software is normally better than the expensive licensed programs.
Top end stuff like Adobe Lightroom and photoshop, for example, can just be downloaded from Adobe direct, thus excluding a middle man.
My 13yo niece uses Ubuntu just fine btw

Henry Ford didn't invent the wheel, but I think you'd agree that he changed the car industry. Apt-Get is a wheel, the Mac App Store is transportation for commercial software. Give Apple some credit, it won't hurt.
