My wifes waters broke at -6 weeks too, the docs say its a toss up between risk of infection and being 6 weeks early. Ultimately they gave her antibiotics and said that will control any chance of infection, keep the baby in for as long as possible. That lasted nearly a week then bambino made an appearance. Shot of antibiotics and home we went 48 hours later.

All will be well but don't expect the hospital to tell you much, it all seems to be a big secret

They got her on Antibiotics straight away to extend the period.

It's 9:30 closing - and I'll be there after work.

I was thinking the same. Once the waters have gone the baby has to come out.

I do think they have special ways to prevent that under certain circumstances. However my friend had twins 6 weeks prem and they were 5lb10 and 5lb1 and were fine. Went home after 3 days.

I imagine a test will be done, and if the baby is healthy an induction will be on the cards.

Here's hoping all goes well.

I think a lot of it was down to raspberry leaf tea! Seven hours the first time and just under four with my second.

No time for pain relief with my daughter!

Just got back (after being booted out).

Still no change. Mum & bump are good.

She's had another round of steroids to boost the little one's lungs - the quacks hinted at an induction tomorrow - but we are getting very conflicting messages from two doctors - one wants to keep the nipper in as long as possible and the other wants to induce as quickly as possible (free up beds?).

The contradictions are a bit confusing & upsetting for both of us as we'd like to know where we stand - we are going to try and nab the consultant during the course of tomorrow.

It might be all systems go in the morning (depending which doctor is on duty. . . . ) - but we'll argue the toss for delaying it a little while longer.

The in-laws have left to travel back up to st helens, and I don't think they'll be able to come down if the snow hits us hard - which is a shame.

well my wife had the pessary, then the gel, then the drip - nothing made a difference - in the end it was a c-section !!

Raspberry leaf tea helps during labour, not as an inducement - I read about it all beforehand to try and speed things up - in the end my wife was 15 days overdue!!!

Cheeky ****** - I haven't got an xbox (or ps3)

I'm @ work (in body - not in mind).

She's been on the monitor this morning - all OK.

Doctors want to induce her this afternoon (gel).

Fark

At least it'll happen before we get snowed in (hopefully)
