OMG Baby on it's way!

/panic mode

My wife's waters broke at 3:30 this morning.

I've just got back home after dropping her at the hospital.

Mum & Bump are both doing well.

Alison's 6 weeks early, the Doctors said all was OK. Baby was moving & heart beat was strong.

Contractions have not yet started - So it's now a waiting game.

I'm supposed to get some sleep but the adrealine is pumping and I feel wired with excitement & Worry.

It's going to be a long few days.

I'll keep you posted.

Hope all goes well :),

They are remarkably resilient, and looks like there just starting the keep mum and dad on there toes routine early :)

Looks like an early scalextric is on the cards :thumb:

I watched 2012 with my girlfriend last night and she was in tears .. ok its a bad movie, but she was worried she wouldn't get back (we're away for a night in a hotel) in time to see our son if the world was ending LOL .. ok she's just over 8 months pregnant but I was laughing my tits off ...

Crazy *******

SJ_Skyline 12 December 2010 09:05 AM

Best of luck :)

Kev_turbo 12 December 2010 09:07 AM

My little girl was born 5 weeks 3 days early weighing just under 5 pounds. All was well and we were home in under 48 hours. No special care, no nothing. I was handed the baby as she was delivered just like with our first who was a week late.

Good luck and you will now have an extra christmas stocking hung on the mantle piece so you had better get shopping!!!

Leslie 12 December 2010 09:37 AM

Must be all over by now-hope all well.

I would imagine it's because even though her waters had broken, she wasn't in labour. Therefore given that it was the middle of the night, he wouldn't be allowed to stay.

Hope all is well. :)

Bit of a change. . .

1st stage has now started @ 1cm

Mum has been given some steroids to help baby.

Her mum & dad are with her at the mo. I've been sent home to get a few hours sleep :(

(not that I mind - only had two hours since yesterday)

I've a feeling it's going to be a long day tomorrow.

Jamie 12 December 2010 07:27 PM

Course he is....read the post more carefully "her mom & dad are with her at the mo' ie. the prospective grand parents are at the hospital to let 'dad to be' have a rest.

Jamie 12 December 2010 07:51 PM

I am still trying to work that out? if that was my g/f wife i would be there not posting on here or messing about on the xbox.

SinghSuperStud 12 December 2010 08:59 PM

Get to the hospital mate - for our first one God help anybody who wanted to be there instead of me ... I am quite possesive but as it was my first one I wanted it to be a 'family' event for me and the wife!

I flat refused the mom-in-law from attending and I only got an hour of sleep. The whole process takes so long and you get a private side room with a comfy few chairs - enough to get some shut-eye :)

s70rjw 12 December 2010 09:17 PM

Best of luck. I delivered my third in the car park thanks to my wife being stubborn and refusing to get in the car ... At least you won't have that to worry about..

Razorwrx1 12 December 2010 11:25 PM

Hope all's well mate with Wife and Baby. Expecting our first in 6 months so not a clue what your going through.:lol1:

Sure everything will be fine tho:thumb:

Ant 13 December 2010 07:37 AM

I wouldn't leave her! 11am til 7am I did. You got to be there for her. You can sleep at hospital

Hysteria1983 13 December 2010 08:25 AM

I have to say Mr P would not have dreamed of leaving me with anyone else.

But my longest labour was seven hours, so not bad really. He wasn't exactly sleep deprived!

Leslie 13 December 2010 08:27 AM

Sleep in the chair!

You lucky thing. 24 hours with my Son and 15 hours with my daughter!!!!
That was me finished. Never again :D

S3LDM 13 December 2010 08:45 AM

Every thing will be fine buddy babies are really strong little things, my twin girls were 11 weeks early we spent the best part of 2 and half months in SCBU, the doc's these days really can do anything, 14 months old now and everything is fine....

BlkKnight 13 December 2010 09:13 AM

Labour has not yet started. No real change overnight.

She's strapped to a baby monitor to assess at the moment - the Dr's want to try and keep the baby in as long as possible (could be two weeks) as the baby 6 weeks premature.

It could change any minute if her body decides it's time.

Because of the ward (not labour) she is on visiting times are very anal.

If anything changes I'll be in like a shot.

Ant 13 December 2010 09:20 AM

Husbands/partner are allowed past visiting hours, this was the case for me on the ward two months ago I was allowed till 8pm

Ant 13 December 2010 09:21 AM

Also if her waters are broke I'm sure it's 48/72hours they can leave it before they have to induce to minimise infection
