Call of Duty Black Ops £25 - any COD fans
#61
Cant see what the issue is - the discount codes were meant for people that had Very.com accounts not Woolworths.
Due to a glitch it allowed them codes to go through on the wooleys site - they're in no way obliged to honour a code that someones blagged and was intended for a different customer.
Take it on the chin - so the scam didnt work - get up early and go to Sainburys.

my issue is with the cancellation and no notice given at all to say they were doing it, that and the lack of a refund in my account.
Always knew it was going to be a gamble, sainsburys it is then

Game are advertising some deals on Black Ops now, £25 when bought with selecteed other games, there are some really good titles in the deal though such as Fallout New Vegas, Halo Reach and the new Castlevania game, well worth a look.
I'm very tempted to buy the new castlevania game at the same time, looks very impressive

Maybe someone at Woolworths should not have added the discount codes to the accepted list?
With the above being true that it was an accepted code, they have done something wrong, if the code wasn't valid, no-one would have gone through the process, or can you not see it that way ?

Chances are it started as a valid code, and the level of interest it got, they've had to back out as couldnt make such a loss
... seems the ones at woolworths are the time wasters and people are well within their right to complain if they've had bad service and havent had a refund yet!!

I just tracked mine and on the page it says this, so it doesn't say its cancelled it just a delay??
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Just to let you know, the items you’ve ordered from our new collection are so popular there may be a slight delay on your delivery, but we’ll make sure you get yours as quickly as we can – thanks for being so patient!

If the OP and probably countless other people (excluding even those from this site) have been under the impression this was a code for Wollies, then something out there must have led them to believe that. Coupled with the fact that not only was the code accepted on their website, any confirmation/other correspondence was from Wollies (no mention ANYWHERE about VERY), nobody was to know until it went **** up that there was some sort of mistake going on and the FACT is this is a mistake on their part.
If this was just down to customers trying to get a good deal, the code wouldn't have worked now would it? Plus they are sister companies, given that you would have thought their way of dealing with this may have been better as the only way such a problem could occur is something going wrong between them.
It is possible there was just a **** up on the part of someone out there adding the code to the Wollies site, as catalogue companies often have promotions like this to draw in new custom, but that is still their mistake. More likely, it is a combination of that and the offer being so popular. Does anyone know (and I may have missed it) if the code was pulled by VERY as well?
I was more than happy to just cancel my order as soon as I realised this wasn't all it was cracked up to be (next day), but if people wish to complain, even though I work in customer services, I think they should. Not so much because it all hasn't worked out, but if the service I received was anything to go by, it was pretty bad.
Like it or not, this was a **** up/glitch at their end, not some consumers trying to scam. I don't think there was anyone out there that didn't think this was a genuine code, available for use on the Wollies website. And nobody originally had a reason not to.

Well said Lisa.
Well the company (as a whole) has done something wrong, albeit probably a mistake.

Looks like I'm going to be free tomorrow, so will be able to head out and pick up a copy. Probably going to go to game, although if I can be arsed asda will be selling them from midnight again. Might just time it so I get down there after 1 or so, as I don't want to queue for as long as the last time.
