The engine will make more power on cold air which is denser than warm air.
It is not the inlet temperature that is critical but it is as well to have the inlet temperature as low as possible.
The air charge temperature is critical and that is the temperature of the air entering the inlet manifold. Every 4 degrees of air charge temperature accounts for 1% power. For this reason it is important to have good intercooling and get the temperature of the air charge to as close to ambient as possible. The temperature of the air leaving the turbo compressor can be 150-200 degrees C. as unlikely as that may sound.
Depending on the make of rolling road in use and whether air temperature is monitored, an unusually high air temperature reading will result in an exaggerated power reading.

Now rebuilt to a decent output with a 2.5 forged conversion.

Been running a VF34 for years. If my Scoobyworld RR print out is right, mine only just made 300bhp. To say I walked off in disgust was an understatement! Lol. That knocked my duck off and did me.

The funniest part of this whole thread is the personal side, which mainly forms around Harvey taking offence to me replying to someone elses post, ie the jibe about the burning of the car (that was in responce to someone elses post about having betting odds as to what the power output would be or would Harvey torch the car) nothing at all personal about it. The other reply used was where I said that I should smack some people in the mouth (or something close to that) was again in responce to someone elses post, again nothing personal and it certainly does not mean I am childish, this is why I said that my post quotes have been used out of context and not as their original meanings but instead only used to make me look foolish. Thats fine though keep at it guys
Cheers Iain

Iain, you have shown yourself up though, you were told several times that for your mods the turbo wont produce that power, no one doubted that the figures would be good though and 360+ is very good for a vf35 but you just didnt listen to what was being said

I did listen and act on advice and comments from alot of posts on here, if I thought I knew everything as Alcazar has suggested and did not listen as you have suggested then I would have still been sat here thinking that I had 380+bhp, but no I chose to act on alot of what was being said and got the end result of 360 bhp which I too think is great .

Fair play to Harvey for sticking this out where other people would of just walked away, i know i would of if i was him but i understand why he didnt.
As i said in a previous post, lesson lernt.....just take it on the chin and be happy with the result.

You aint kidding mate ,i cant remember the last time i posted on this thread ,i think i was a young boy wearing shorts .
I think my 1st post said something like :there will always be exceptions to the norm and iains results, whether it be 380 or 360 bhp are just that .
What are the chances of this thread being finished before xmas
