382.8bhp from a VF35 :)

Hi all

Well what can I say, just been down to Subaru4u in Newbury for a power run and ran 382.8bhp on Vpower. I will post up the graphs when I get home.

Very pleased with the results.

Cheers Iain

What other mods ??

wrathchild_78 07 October 2010 10:29 AM

i didn't even believe so far that this was achievable. So far, the best aggressively tuned impreza with a VF34 (I have seen) had made 370bhp but the engine broke a few months later.

Simtek
Apexi avcr @ 1.5 Bar
AB88 FMIC + Forge DV
550cc injectors, fuel lab FPR, para' fuel rails, walbro fuel pump.
Full decat inc tubular manifold etc.
Apexi power intake.

still seems high for those mods...u sure you aint got methanol in there?

either that or you have a really responsive/good engine

Been running 350bhp+ for over 2 years with no engine issues :)

Pretty good figures from a VF35, I know a guy on SIDC who made 370 from his but think this is the first one I know of to hit 380!

eggy790 07 October 2010 11:06 AM

impressed.. how does it drive? when does it run out of puff? you doing nay drag days ? whats the torque like?

b16msu265 07 October 2010 11:10 AM

Rapid spool no lag, never runs out of puff really, will do 1.68 60ft and 11.80 1/4 running 1.4 Bar. So running at 1.5 and on 888s should see me close to a 10 :)

Cheers Iain

Slightly optimistic on that one D surely?

2.5STI 07 October 2010 11:33 AM

good stuff. PM me your mobile number... ll pop down see you when you free of course!

TonyBurns 07 October 2010 11:34 AM

You keep forgetting to tell people that its not a standard vf35 though ;)
A standard vf35 would not produce those figures.

Tony:)

10 second quarter from a 380bhp car, not likely.........

eggy790 07 October 2010 11:40 AM

whats he done to this vf35? and is it in a classic shell?

My thoughts exactly, I needed over 500 to do a 10 in mine and I know someone with over 600bhp who still isn't there yet.

Lewak 07 October 2010 12:01 PM

This Vf35 is in a classic. sti ver 3

can't say no more really. Still 11.8 1/4 for a 380bhp car is still very good

Only difference between this and cars at 500bhp IMOA is they would have a high terminal speed.

Wouldn't say 10 sec 1/4mile but could be close. low 11s high 10s if anything with the correct tyres and setup

next drag race session Iain i'm coming with (depending on work of course)

Nothing wrong with having dreams. ;)

What is the spec of your "VF35" ?

A good VF35, on V-Power can get to 340 bhp and a few a little bit more so, to what do you attribute the 380 bhp.

Did not say run a 10 I said close to a 10, and as for the turbo not being standard all I have done is port the wastegate to eliminate the boost creep, and fitted an uprated actuator, so nothing huge really :)

I can only put it down to the work I have done on the wastegate and Bobs map, I reakon I can get more out of it too as there are a few bits I overlooked :)

Surely the at and it are supposed to be similar numbers otherwise results may vary? I'm, not hot on rr's but know a man who is. Still a bloody good result for a vf35, and I wish mine got that high. Harvey headers and uppipe to start I think...

banny sti 07 October 2010 12:42 PM

Check out the intake temp, think you want to do some work around that fella!

Dont know about that one, my intake is well heat shielded, the temp sensor must have been sat near the wash from the rad or something lol.

Cheers Iain
