Tony: As Techno Brat says above. Closest to direct drive but some RR operators prefer to use 3rd as the run is shorter and obviously the speed is less, all referring to a five speed box. I know that on the DD rollers at TEG Sport or Scooby Clinic it matters not what gear you are in. The figures are pretty close. However on the Dastek at Motoscope there is a considerable difference in both BHP and torque depending what gear you run.
Big D: If your IT was a genuine 42 degrees and you reduced it to 17 degrees then you have a genuine 405 bhp VF 35 equipped car if your turbo is a VF35. Unfortunately for you the 42 degree temperature is an anomoly and if you run on the same rollers today with accurate base information the only way you can exceed the figures I have given you above is by the use of methanol or other enhanced fuel.
If you accept the IT was wrong why don't you accept the reality when the IT is corrected?
Reasonable? I think not.
Throughout I have tried to show you the things you need to look at and consider. I have tried to be factual and improve yours and others understanding while you have wandered off, totally defensive instead of opening your mind, making assumptions I will say something about your tyres and very foolishly making reference to running my dog over. Big mistake. It is a great pity you cannot deal with the facts instead of letting your imagination run riot.
Your claim was 382 bhp at 1.4 bar on road fuel with ported wastegate and uprated WG actuator. This is on the premise of blatantly erroneous information from your dyno printout and all I have done is pointed out why that information is exceptionally questionable and the effect on your result.
I have also pointed out that your result while not 382 bhp is at the top of the tree as is your quarter mile time for your mods.
Like much of what you have had to say if you want to get personal and silly.

Harvey if I get 370bhp @ 1.5 Bar I will be a damn happy man tomorrow but to be honest I hope it runs a 390 (no harm in having dreams ), my ego is not at stake as I feel I have been very open and honest about everything so far, how the hell do you know what I have and have not done up to this point? Even if it fell off the rollers tomorrow I can hold my head high as I have only done what you have asked me to do, just dont burn my car tonight as I am quite looking forward to seeing the results tomorrow.

I said the following:
"you dont not know me Harvey yet you rip into me and my so called lack of understanding like I just ran over your dog"
It means that you attack me on the forum in a way that I would expect if I had done something really bad to you.
and
" just dont burn my car tonight as I am quite looking forward to seeing the results tomorrow"
Here I was trying to be humerous.
Please dont twist my posts Harvey is is very petty and childish.
I do find your posts quite personal to be honest but as I dont know you I cant hold it against you as I am sure you are a top bloke and afterall we share a simmilar passion for the Impreza.
Cheers Iain

What makes me laugh is that its not the figures that I am contesting or being defensive about it is the fact that the work and effort that I have put in over the past 2 - 3 years on this car is being questioned by people that dont know me or the car and I think I have a right to be defensive about that and I am not about to burry my head in the sand or run away.
From my point of view I just want an accurate figure fullstop, if it runs the same I have a well setup car and the work I have done has defo contributed, if it runs less then my car is much faster for the bhp it has than I thought it was which is also a good thing so either way I dont really care, just dont be so quick to dismiss the work I have done as I for one am 100% certain it works.
Cheers Iain

What time is your run mate, need to set my alarm!?
I hope you get the results you want buddy, and i am sure that some people won't be happy until you come back and say that the car is making 25 bhp at 8 bar of pressure! Just remember that some people will never believe posted results, and that as long as you are happy with the car then everything else is irrelevant! I will still be in touch when my 28 goes again and get a "breathed on" 35.
Good luck mate

So this is currently No. 4 on all time responses in this subforum, ironically just ahead of "Should you remap a car on a rolling road?".
I think an inconclusive result today should see you easily past "Why aren't you using E85 / BioEthanol?" and if a few more people get involved in the feud we should be on par with the mighty "EcuTek mapping Vs Open mapping ?". Don't think we see it get near "Help !! Killed the Scoob !" tho that is more than double what you have now. To acheive that I think the next thread has to be "500bhp! 1.6GL + gaffer tape + Ktel hairdryer".
On a more positive note you are the highest thread that is neither a question or employs copious exclamation marks.
Looking forward to the result tonight tho, good luck!

Before confirmation of what exactly? I posted the very first post on here direct from Subaru4U after the runs and posted the graphs up as soon as I got home, at which point the IT was questioned and this is why I am going for another dyno today. I am not cocky mate I was just quite excited as you would have been if it was your scoob. If it makes 330 then I have the countries fastest 330bhp Impreza

Harvey's technical knowledge surpasses quite a lot of people's on here, that includes turbo tuning etc, the answer you seek is probably in one of the other posts, and looking by what alot of people have said (not just Harvey), its the clarity that is needed due to the inconsistancies in the read outs which have not been corrected.

Ok guys, I have just had a good look at my intake heatshield and the 40+ deg IT temp may well not have been incorrect.
Here is why, It has a huge gap at the front right next to the drivers side end cap of the radiator and there is a gap between the bonnet and the top of the shield, when the car is in forward motion or has a big fan blowing into the engine bay with the bonnet down, the air pressure in the engine bay will be slightly higher than where my filter is so it is very possible that my heat shield is infact acting against me and causing the engine to intake hot air from the engine bay and not the wing as hot air will be pushed from the engine bay into the space where my filter is
We will just have to wait and see, there will be 2 sets of runs today one with the sensor as it was before next to the intake under the bonnet and another set with it removed from the engine bay, hopefully between the 2 sets of runs we can come to a happy conclusion.
Cheers Iain

Do you know what cars Harvey runs?

I'm just trying to get down to the bottom of this I.e If Iain's runs provide the same BHP with all paramiters correct and correction factors taken into account that he will let it drop and that Iain does have a car producing more power than what people say is possible from a VF35.
from what i have read at the moment i believe even if Iain make 382.8bhp again with all corrections people will still dispute it and say its not possible.
