One thing to bare in mind is that prices will only ever go down from there so expect this time next year for someone to offer you £10,500-£11,000 with it being a year older and an extra 12,000 odd miles on the clock.
Fair point, it won't get another 12k on the clock though, it's a toy really & sits in my garage most of the time under a cover.

I've changed the price to 12500 with the option of negotiation.

Then that makes an attractive proposition. If only I was able to spend that much.

i wonder if i had left mine standard would it be a more attractive proposition to a prospective buyer? but then on the other hand a enthuisiast would appreciate proper mods that enhance a car and the money thats been put into it, plus it still looks factory standard which is a rare thing in a classic. should i upgrade my advert to a premium add on pistonheads so its on the first few pages? what about using autotrader?

Default 6 months to sell my Spec C ...

& that was back in 2007/8 so would probably be worse in 2010. Hang in there as a buyer always comes along

Allegedly ... no one ever saw it in person or the add if I remember correctly.

Where are you advertising it mate? I sold my classic last year, similar to yours - immaculate, similar mileage, fsh, known the car from new etc.... Started off on the Subaru forums and piston heads and just got timewasters emailing and a fully qualified over the phone tyre kicker, I must have spent 3 hours of my life emailing and talking to him and it turned out he hadn't had an insurance quote and had no, no claims! Think he was lonely! Anyway, stuck it on Autotrader, next day I had a couple of emails and then the phone went, fella was round within half an hour, left a deposit and came and picked it up that weekend! Just keep advertising it, it will go in the end
