Steven and Paul put a base map on the car yesterday and proper mapping is happening on Zens rollers next weekend. Pictures are being kept to one side till I see it in the flesh as it looks a little different

Took the car down to Zen yesterday for a short burst of running in on the dyno, followed by full tank full of fuel mapping for power.

It's clear Steve's new 2.35 is performing somewhat differently to his 2.5 he had before. Paul never stopped fettling the map, and once he started to push for anymore than 1.6 bar he started to see an issue with fueling at the top end. So although more boost could be run in the mid range we simply couldnt run it higher up, due to it starting to run too lean. Injectors were flat out!

Paul at Zen finshed the day with a very respectable 555bhp at 1.54 bar at 7400rpm!

That should keep Steve happy for a while, enough for him to put some decent miles on the car now, and then we can change to bigger injectors in the new year

really good result are you just letting the exhaust gasses spin the turbo or have you got anti lag to help it when off boost, whats the lag like?

No anti lag. The whole package is very responsive. Full boost well before 4000rpm from memory.

Cant to see what it does when we can put enough fuel in.

2 more projects to finish before then. A 2.3 running a 321v and VVT heads on an Sti5 and a 2.35 P1 i have been working on for quite some time now, that should do 700+ if all goes to plan.

The P1 should be interesting, as it has the same turbo as the Lateral Banana, but in a conventional position (which too a lot of doing). Long thread, my involvement comes towards the end ;-) http://www.p1woc.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=15865

Looking forward to seeing the difference on similar power with the new block as compared to the 2.5ltr?

At least I can drive it at its old performance to see what the next step will be like as its been a while since I have drove it so will take the drive home to get used to it

If you look in my profile there is an older graph in there showing the spool of the car with similar power on the 2.5ltr at 1.6bar. I'm sure full boost was about 4000rpm??

Picked the car up today and its in need of a good clean inside and out, didn't drive it fast as its been a while since I have been behind the wheel of the impreza the whole driving postion seems strange. I will get used to the car again then putting my foot down will seem easy

Here are some of pictures of the engine bay

Had the Sparco pro's in so my bum is a bit numb after the big drive, I will swap the seats over to a proper trim this week sometime.
