Look what I found in a barn

Well I took this picture of my car when I was in York two weeks ago and it has more engine in the cabin than the bay but now we are seeing some progress :D

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/10...d/barnshot.jpg

The new 2.33ltr engine has just been built up and work is now well on the way to get the heads sorted. Although the car has doormant for a while due to lack of funds, it now looks like it will be all set for a new return in time for SSO. The car will have a new Syvecs ecu in place by then and hopefully a nice big meths map to keep me happy. It should be fun driving this at SSO as it will be the 1st time behind the wheel in a year so I expect some bottling on the couple of runs until I get used to it again

is the car up and running yet steve and are you sticking to methanol or you going for the full blown race fuel.?

stevebt 13 September 2010 06:56 PM

The engine has only just been built, a nice shinny new 2.35ltr block and I was hoping for a 20/30% meths map with a bottle of NF added but its not my call :D

Jolly Green Monster 13 September 2010 08:18 PM

looking forward to seeing it out being used and abused again soon Steve.

Simon

stevebt 13 September 2010 08:23 PM

The funny thing is I bet SSO will be the 1st time I drive the car in anger for over a year so it will be fun :D

dunx 14 September 2010 10:57 AM

Arf,

just remember, "You're only supposed to blow his doors off !"...

Just nail the first run, then the racing excuses can be let loose.

Why's your car in York with you somewhere else?

TX.

stevebt 14 September 2010 08:06 PM

Its in york as thats where the work is being done to the car

Banny, I have no ideas on power but It can't be that much different to before as not that much has changed so say plus or minus 600bhp??

alanbell 14 September 2010 08:41 PM

good luck with it steve,

gussy 14 September 2010 09:30 PM

stevebt 14 September 2010 10:18 PM

Gussy, we'll see how well the new gloves will cope on SSO. I even have a race suit as well :)

I'm more part of the £££ side but I'm sure someone can clear that up :)

Original are bolts, but upgrade to studs a good thing for over 450

Just glancing at picture on phone looks like oversize 14mm studs too ;)

stevebt 19 September 2010 09:28 AM

Not taking any chance for heads lifting this time :D

P20SPD 21 September 2010 03:13 PM

Simon, correct they are RCMS 14mm studs. Wont use anything else now above 450.

I am pulling out all the stops to get this ready for SSO.
