I am officially an iPad owner

It's not perfect i agree, show me anything that is
I'm still very impressed with it and have no regrets in buying it..........yet
I guess they have to leave some things out for iPad 2.0 next year.

The smaller ones are actually used as a scoop, to try and get the owners heads out of their *****! The iPads are bigger to help new owners like me initially fit my head UP there in the first place lol.

I have been a fan of Apple from the 1st hour and i was one of the very first Ipod users in Holland when it came out almost a decade ago.
The problem with their new products is the 'prison' style marketing that comes with it.
Nohing is compatible unless apple wants it to be.
And Apple wants to Own you, that's why you have to use a CC or some other way of payment just to able to use their products to the full extend.
A good example, The Ipod has been a great mp3 player for many years. I bought an Bose docking station that is ideal for the Ipod and more or less replaces the traditional stereo.
The Ipod worked great and as a docking station it's also a charging station.
I bought an Ipod Touch and used it on the docking station, all of a sudden it's comes with a message "the accesory does not support charging !"
Turns out that Apple changed the charging route from the traditional Firewire 12V to a 5V usb connection.
This means that ALL previous compatible chargers are now useless, including the factory docks in some cars, docking stations, you name it.
So there you are with your 300+ quid docking station and you have to charge your ipod using the usb cable
Try to put a single Mp3 song on your device ... You have to use that damn I-tunes again which is too cumbersome.
Anyone ever tried to upgrade to I OS-4 ? It insists on making a backup which takes ages with gb's of data.
Why is all the data always backed up on your computer again in the Apple itunes folder ?
Itunes itself is WAY too enhanced for some people who just want to put music on it and don't care for video, Tv programs, podcasts and other things that a lot of people simply don't use.
Why isn't there an official Tool from Apple that is small and easy to use for the simple things ?
I noticed this while being abroad and had to use a different computer and had to download the big file sized (with a slow connection) just to acces my ipod and add a file or 2 !
And i can go on for hours.
Used to love Apple for it's unique hardware but now it's turning into what MS used to be and wants the customer to continue spending money on upgrades (8 quid upgrade for a firmware upgrade on a 2 month old 32 GB Ipod touch !!!) and expensive accesoires.
I see senior citizens walking around with Iphones who normally have a hard time using a moneymachine !
It's more like a society gimmick that you have to have otherwise your being considered lame and old fashioned.
Apple's designing studio and marketing are top notch.
Their features and functionality are going hill fast.

Bose mentioned specifically.
You don't have to use iTunes and backups are never a bad thing.
Hope this helps.

Ever noticed how much such a convertor costs for something you paid good money for ? Also the Ipod simply doesn't fit properly in the dockingstation (raising the unit by a good 3 cm) and you have to have the right adaptor with it to make it decent (again $$$$$$).
The griffin convertor btw is discontinued.
You name me 1 good program that's free and allows me to easily add/remove songs and playlists without messing the Ipod information up.
I tried several, most of them messed up data.

Hilarious that its almost like paying a fixed penalty notice for doing something Apple dont want you to do on their device, but sumbit that you can...... if you are willing to pay the price.

Indeed this is true Jack. Not sure that USB would have been a big deal though, but hey ho doesn't have one, so no point crying about it eh.
Great device, I can't deny that, but room for improvement for sure. Glad I got it and went with my gut not my heart lol
