Old Clive:
Turnaround for the block will be a couple of weeks which is ideal as I have a straight forward rebuild on a V5 STI to do. That arrives on Sunday.

Young Clive:
Yeah a new offering from RCM don't know exact details yet but they should be very fruity indeed and will be going into the V4 heads.

Turbo is going to be a GT35R (0.82 exhaust housing) it's going to have a billet wheel but will be sourced direct from Garrett via RCM. I have no idea if its the same as the SC offering but Olly said its direct from Garrett themselves. Will also be using the RCM equal length manifold which should give the car a lovely note, especially on full chat

 

If you want to save even more cash I have an ACT 6 puck clutch that works fine in mine, although I am fitting a carbonetics tripple plate clutch soon

 

I'll have that off you Steve will go on mine.

 

The Garrett billets have been knocking around in the US for a while so I have read along with the more recent Blouch offering. I expect they will be very similar.

No pressure but have you 2 got an estimated completion date ?

We are still confident we can do this within the budget.

 

I think similar spec and AVCS heads will work better and make better figures. I still think the .63 housing is the better option as if your going with syvecs ecu you can spec the odd fuel map to say 30% meths and get great figures and if you go with a billet gt35r on .63 housing its all good

 

Decision on turbo is made, GT35R with a billet wheel and the 0.82 housing no ifs no butts .

The Exedy Twin Plate for Clive's has arrived today.

I was looking at the ACT offering for mine. Would like to give one a whirl before shelling out for an Exedy myself.

 

I have launched mine a few times with my ACT clutch and its spot on and thats at 2.2bar The only problem is its a pig to drive slow but if you want to drive fast

 

I'd read they were £400 a set but have just read where i'd seen that again and that was to supply and fit unpainted. So if they are £200 a set than that's even more cash saved to go in the engine parts pot

Only a 20mph or under, constant in a straight line, constant turning left, stops when turing right.......... bearing?

Possibly Brakes,

Take it down the road and do a bit of hard braking could just be some pad deposit.

Give the brakes a workout.

I think that Daz may be correct as my kit does this some times and it clears after some hard braking. Failing wheel bearings tend to make a rumbling noise as appose to a squeak.

 

I have given the brakes a bash at 40, 90 & 150 but still have the noise??

Oh well. will be getting plenty of it tomorrow at Brands and that may cure it.
