Project 2
*****WARNING AUTOMOTIVE *********
Ok a bit of an exageration but none the less you have been warned
I've been down to RCM today to collect the heads for this build. I knew they'd be good but even my expectations were exceeded today.
These heads is where a large part of the budget has gone.
They have had the following done:
Team Ice Large Port Conversion
Team Ice Port and Polish
WRC Combustion Chamber Conversion
High Lift Cam Conversion
One peice bucket conversion
Bronze Valve Guide Conversion
Head face Skim
WRC Inlet and Exhaust Valves
High Lift Cams
Double Valve Spring Kit
Titanium Retainers
Double Spring Spacer
I've also ordered a set of Vernier Cam Pulleys which will be here next week.
Assembly of this lot will start next week when I collect the spring spacers, vernier pulleys and modified head gaskets (14mm head stud ream)
Without further a do the promised automotive ****...

I'm not certain on this Clive but I think they'll have more top end than the DH22's. As far as I know the DH22's are fantastic for torque and midrange response where as these ones will have good response but also breath better at the top. I'm pretty certain they are the same as the JUN stuff. I'm not 100% about the difference but I think thats what I read when i was searching for cams for my old car.
Cheers Neil it's nice to hear that rather than be told that I'm a rough c*nt

Yeah I seem to recall the Jun ones are 272. Will be interesting to see how they perform.
How's the actually car coming along ? Come on Clive help contribute to your thread

I have been watching this thread and looking forward to seeing pictures of my old rally car shell when complete as it looks like its going to be an awesome car.
Felt very sad when she went, having won the BTRDA Asphalt championship in her twice, but now the new car is nearly ready or will be on the 6th June as we are out on the Mini Epynt stages shaking her down.
Here are some pictures

Your new car is looking nice mate, bet your looking forward to the shake down
.
As Daz mentioned I noticed your look when we loaded up & drove off with your shell . It reminded me of when I collect the P1 from the previous owner and I promised him I would take care & look after the P1, and I have,
I promise you the same matey. Your be proud of the car when you see it finished as we shall be dedicated to detail throughout.
To be honest we have fallen a little behind with the shell work and I had a long chat with the lads at SPR Coachworks last week. They have been really busy with a Porsche dealership within their town & have now increased there work force by two.
There will be a guy dedicated to P2 from tomorrow and they feel that it can be completed within a few weeks.
I have also been guilty of falling behind as I have needed to direct much attention to my business in this bleak period.
Many companies in our field of work have gone bust. I am not going to let that happen to me. That is not an option.
We have had our fair share of delays waiting for some components from over seas & most of the waiting is now finished.
The ball will be rolling from now and many including me believe this thread will surpass the previous stats of the P1 thread.
I am fully aware that many will be following this build due to the amount of guys that approach me at venues/events/shows commenting on P2.
I have been assured by Daz & the RCM stable that this thing is going to be a beast when finished.
P2 is not fully focused on drag racing, but if we can give Madhammer some close competition on the strip I will be happy with that and I'm sure MH Clive will enjoy it too

Hope this car does come close to mine, looking at the spec list it will out perfom mine on the dyno. However the fact I am 13 years your junior means my reaction time on the strip will keep me ahead

Worbs, I may be getting you confused with another guy but are you the fella with the really quick wagon, that time up The Pod??
(Nothing what so ever to do with P2 but how funny does this dog look !)
These photos were taken as the owner & his english bull terrier arrived at a US vet.
The dog had just had a fight with a porcupine in the guys back yard

There pain limits are extremely high & it probably looks a lot more painful than it was.
