Sub-Letting Fee - Pier Management

Pier Management is at it again- Requesting sub let fees
Pier management have set a letter out on 18th September 2013 requesting to formalise sub let at the cost of £ 120 for a 12 months period and demanding details of tenants . They will ten give me a " Licence to Sublet ".
I am not going to pay anything but they say I need to stay compliant with the terms of the lease . Which has worried me , but they do that to people all the time.
I know deep down that this is another scam to collect money, and naturally the after 12 months I would have to renew licence and will have to pay again. then the fee would be 150 for sure - inflation and all that garb.
Is there any one out there that can stop Pier management or my free holder Regis sport, my life has been a nightmare with these flats sinceI bought them in 2006 . Its Pier Management , CPM , Regissport , Erinaceous group they are all crooks and have taken thousands off landlords - rip of merchants . There is always something dropping in from nowhere year after year - f -fed up with it.

Pier management at it again
Here we go again two years later - Pier management saying the same thing , doing the same thing . My letter two years later is identical !!!
We've had a letter from Pier Management wanting £117.50 per flat (£100+vat), for a 12month 'Licence to Sublet' for a Flat we rent out.
After reading through my lease I am yet to find where it states that we can't Sub-Let.
This was never mentioned by my solicitor when I bought my flats a number of years ago.
This week I will be getting a second reading of the lease by a solicitor again just to confirm what I already think I know.
page 9 of the lease, section 10(a)
a copy of the lease is here,
http://www.parkviewcourt.co.uk/PVC_lease.pdf
does anyone with Legal knowledge understand the section I refer to?
Pier also ask about details of the tenants and if they are DSS/Student/Asylum Seeker etc, my wife seems to think there's a Data protection and human rights issue about disclosing information about tenants, is this correct?
has anyone had dealings with Pier Management or know about subletting fees and leases
BUT out of interest, doing a google search about over high Sub-Letting Fees and PIER Management you find some very interesting forums and blogs about this very same thing!!!!!
here's are just two I found that might interest you!!!

what have you done this time?

This time too fed up and done .....Nothing. I may contact new ,management company - CPM has been got rid off. and they are onto the varied scams of Regissport , CPM and Pier . They may confirm that Pier management is there to collects ground rent and that's its and they may also inform members of management group that they are trying once again to syphon money off owners. I may then send Pier Mgnt a letter to say they are not entitled to levy any further fees under the lease - ground rent and that's its and if they try again will take them to court . They are total crooks - wish I could sell and never have to deal with them again , but I bought at peak and will have to wait . Fed up with it all.

Hi
I received the same letter asking for fees to let my flat. I went back to my solicitor who dealt with the original sale and he confirmed - don't pay!!! I advise the other guys in the block not to pay as they have the same lease - unfortunately one already had and was just in the process of writing out another cheque for a fee he shouldn't be paying.... I would advise to really look at your lease - the wording can be confusing. Email Pier tell them your solicitor is looking into it and that you do not expect to incur late fees (put it in writing) Alternatively contact the Leasehold Advisory Service - this is a free service and they will be able to advise you whether you need to pay - a really great service (I actually sent them a letter and they replied by email only took 2 weeks). Sick of all the inflated admin charges we are now in the process of trying to buy our freehold back. If you can do it - do it!!

We've just gone through a RTM- right to manage. Taken a couple of years but now have got rid of HLM and appointed our own local agent. I'm one of three directors of the RTM company of the building now.
Pier are still the acting agents for the free holder.
They are also acting are the in between while we're STILL waiting for accounts etc to be handed over to us from HLM. It's now been over two months since we took over the building.
Stuff we are now finding out and bills that haven't been paid I could write a blog about it. Communal area power being turned off by eon because they took HLM to court on 31st Oct last year. Warrant served by the judge and they can and turned power off on 19th Nov.
Our hand over date from HLM for the rtm was 8th November! They hadn't paid the bill. On purpose. . . Who knows!
It would be nice to get the free hold too but with 80flats it would come expensive and doubt we could buy it from them.

More people need to challenge Pier Mangement Waterglen Regisport Regisport Ground Rent. Another succesful case. And the Tirbunal went back the full six years. It must have hurt them to pay up. It certainly pays to read your lease. These lucky Leaseholders Leases state they only have to contribute 1/5th of expenditure not the 50% Pier Management were trying to claim.
