You will see 500 or near as dam it with a 46billet and meths on the 2.5.

Thats great news Kev. It just goes to show that if you do great work you get recognised. What stars did you take out?

What would be the best compromise (for a 30% DD and 70% track car)?

In fact,
-I'm afraid the sc46 would not make a lot of improvement
-I'm afraid the sc50 would be limited with stocks cams and cylinder heads
-I'm sure the sc54 needs others cams and heads

Is there a dyno of the sc50 on a 2.5 ltr with stocks cams and heads?

Thanks
Vincent (from France...sorry for my poor english)
Hi,

the new SC46 Billet with an 8 cm housing would be just the job for you with a fantastic improvement on the 20G you already have.

I see you mention meth mix, on a 20% mix you will most likely hit 500 BHP which, in my opinion, and I stress, "my opinion only", you are pushing the limits of the block.

The SC50 would be overkill and you would sacrifice spool.

cheers
Kev

Hi,

no stars yet and its just started to rain, but yesterday we took out one of the directors from Virgin media, MD of HMV, motor-sport journalists from all over the world.

I dont know who is lined up for today, just hope it dries out down there.

Well, you're prob limited to 320-330bhp, as the OEM TMIC and 440cc won't go much beyond that.

So, Scooby Clinic's smallest SC36 Billet (assuming you're enquiring about an "SC" turbo, yes?) would be the turbo of choice, running that spec.

Hi,

joz has answered your question, it will out perform the VF28 by a long way but it is also down to what other mods you have, i.e. we have seen 10 -15 BHP gains from a decent inlet pipe and induction kit.

Of course whichever route you go the car will need a re-map.

cheers

Hi,

well the Santa pod outing was a washout, celebs cancelled, drag strip shut, all we got was a couple of moody pics and a soaking.

While some of the team were down at Santa Pod other members of our team were at Donninton setting a car up, they could have done with a downpour.

Hi,

a con rod decided to break in half and cut a hole in the block.

Result, hot oil on a red hot exhaust manifold and it went up.

Driver OK, car not well, its this sort of experience which helps us find the limits of engine components or ancillaries helping us build our customers better cars be it for the road or track.

Engine already out and being stripped for assessment, ecu data log studied but not conclusive so the data file is going off for analysis.

We have 3 weeks to turn this car round so it can race in the next round of Euro saloons at Oulton park, one good thing is the suspension is now set up properly and the car was flying.

Just a bit of paint, replace the loom and all hoses and a new engine, shouldn't be a problem.

Cheers
Kev

Kev, refresh my memory. What's the salient spec and bhp/lb ft of the SC drag car again?

Amazing photo (even if it turned out for the 'wrong' reason). Sorry to see that.

Hi,

the drag car is a 2.1 stroker with a rotated GT 30 Billet strapped to it, managed by a syvecs ecu.

The car produced 623 BHP and 590 ftlb's on E 85 fuel, so far its done a 9.66 quarter mile but has never been run on full boost.

Mikee has promised me some video footage later so if and when it appears I will post it up.

cheers

A friend of mine has a non billet sc46 on his 6 speed RA. The car made 440bhp with a 20%meth....IMO this really isnt a laggy turbo on a 2.0.

Hi,

at the moment it is something we cannot offer due to demand.

We can only just keep pace with the stock on the SC46 so for now I am afraid it would be a case of sell your old one on and buy a new Billet unit.

Thanks for your enquiry

cheers

Not so good

Out of interest then, what was the spec of the engine?
What make of Rod let go?
What power was it running and on what turbo?
