scoobyclinics turbo's just got billet I mean better!

From memory it was able to make 1 bar in 6th at approx 2800rpm and 1.6 bar by 3100rpm on the road.
Whilst it was being tuned I was able to compare it's graph to a tuned RB320 we'd done just the day before. It spooled only 200rpm later but of course made 150+bhp more
I've got another 30 Billet being played with at the moment, 2.1 in this one with ported V4 heads and Cosworth cams.
Makes 420bhp @ 1 bar and 520bhp @ 1.9 bar on straight VPower.
Spool is excellent and I reckon there's a fair bit more power to come from a meth mix and race fuel maps, however we have maxed it's injectors for a minute so we'll come back to it when we have some bigger ones.

currently have a fully forged 2004 2.0l sti mapped by simon on motec, car is in a APS SR40 turbo which is incredibly laggy, looking to switch to a more responsive spooling turbo, happy with around the 360-370 mark so is the SC36 billet the best option? with engine being fully forged it could be pushed quite hard for best results.
as it stands im currently getting nothing really to circa 4k rpm and would love a much more responsive spooling road car.

the SC36 Billet is a belter of a turbo, spools in the box yet we have seen over 400 BHP on one with a meth mix.
Not badly priced either at £750.00 + vat, comes with gaskets and water pipes.
cheers

Hi,
These billet turbo's are amazing all with great results too,
But for the rest of us that haven't got billet money what is your price list from entry level upwards.
Many thanks.
Martin.

Hi, I'm scratching my head over which turbo to go with my 2.35 that is being built at the moment. I'm after around 550 on pump fuel, but would like to make 600 with meths, I'm after a nice spooly set up with as minimal lag as is possible at this power level for a good track set up. My set up includes big port avcs heads with lateral fast road/race cams, supertech valves etc.
I'm thinking along the lines of either a GT30 with a .83 exhaust housing, or maybe keep it simple with a standard location turbo such as the SC54??
Any comments or graphs of these turbos on 2.35's will be very welcome!
Cheers
Iain

Would love an informed opinion:-
My current spec is MD321H, GT Spec headers, Harvey up-pipe, full 3" Milltek, 650 inj., Hyperflow CAI, AVC-R but still with the STi TMIC Mapped by Paul at Zen
I'm about to order a FMIC and am toying with the idea of a SC42.
Will I see much advantage with the SC42 over the MD321H considering the IC change as well? I'm really loath to loose the spool of the MD How do they compare?
I did contemplate the SC46 but am nervous of the increased lag and the (at this time) standard internals.
Look forward to someone saying "do it"

In my experience of them, the 35 would be a better choice on your spec

that's interesting, but isn't the gt35 well over 600 on pump and around 700 on method? Whilst that is great, i don't want to sacrifice driveability for high numbers. I know there are a few 2.35 with gt35 being built at the moment and i am looking forward to seeing the results. One question, how does the turbo perform at a lower boost level than optimum, (if that makes sense)

Hi,
for better spool and yet still 600 BHP on a meth mix go with the GT30 Billet .63.
cheers

Hi,
assuming your car is a 2.0ltr I would go with the SC42 billet as thats what its designed for, the SC46 wont make much more power than the 42 on a 2.0ltr as its more suited to a 2.2 or 2.5 ltr, you will sacrifice a bit of spool and not gain any more power.
cheers

What supporting mods are there? (Apologies for all the questions but I need to convince myself of the benefit of the turbo change!)

if I remember correctly it was on ecutec and we wont push the boost any higher than 1.45 as the max on the ecutec system is 1.55 bar with the safetys on, we refuse to turn them off, (dangerous) and run up to 1.45 leaving a bit of headroom for safety.
cheers
