Thought I would update on my new engine and Billet 35R. Yesterday we ran at RCM with Paul Blamire mapping as always and we has a pretty good result 708bhp on race fuel, now this is not as much as last year but it is a different dyno.

Finally just like to say thank you to all that have helped get the car back for 2012, Paul Blamire (Zen Performance), Tim Farmer (Subbus) who rebuilt the engine, Mark @ Lateral Performance for all rebuild parts, Mikee & Scoobyclinic for the new Billet 35R and continued support.

And thanks to Matt and Olly today for use of their facilities and tools at RCM.

Is it just me or does it look like it takes an age to spool?

Hi,

its about 800 to 1000 rpm quicker to spool on the road, very quick car for very little mods.

Here is the AFR/boost graph.

It'll be because Kevs guys run 6 speed boxes in 3rd gear, nothing wrong with that but it does make turbos look far laggier than they are.
The SC42 Billet spools like a B*****D on a non AVCS car, never mind one with AVCS

Hi,

difficult to answer but the SC40 is rated at 400 BHP, due to its more aerodynamic Billet compressor wheel we have seen more.

Cheers

Kev, just a quick one,

Is it worth upgrading my Version 1 GT35R Billet to the latest version?

If so is it just a wheel change or a whole new unit?

Costs too please.

Cheers

Too right Martyn, standard sti v5/v6 heads on mine and its ballistic at 1.95bar,and since fitting the 6 speed box it spools even quicker due to the ratio`s,it can easily catch you out if your not carefull.

Running a SC42 twin scroll on a JDM STI with AVCS I can confirm my car spools as quick as the standard car, that's with a FMIC too! So to sum I have a bigger turbo and a front mount and have no discernible lag in comparison with a standard turbo and top mount.

These will fit on OEM or OEM-pattern twin-scroll (twin feed) uppipe, right?!

Is the new SC42 £1500 +VAT? (Sorry, can't recall the price breakdown of the old turbo + exh housing).

I am right in thinking that the old sc42 twinscroll needed a little machine work to fit as it was fouling somewhere, If so i take it this has been eradicated now and as you say this is now just a straight bolt on affair?

You wouldn`t like to test the 42 TS on my Spec-C would you

Gaz.

Hi,

the original SC42 Billet twin scroll was, like all our range, a true direct fit, no knocking chunks of block off or grinding bits of bell housing away, the only change is the exhaust housings now a custom casting, no need for us to require your old housing on an exchange basis, this leaves you with your old turbo complete to do with what you wish.

Hope that explains.

cheers
Kev

...Perhaps fashion some kind of homemade industrial strength hoover (spin it in reverse) with it?

Or a fvck-off leaf blower.

It made 435 bhp with meth at 1.45 bar peak. I have 800cc injectors to allow headroom for more.
