Good move pete imho, any bigger than a GT30 on a 2.1 will ruin the car pal,you need a 2.33+ to get the best out of owt above a 30 mate.

Your car is an out an out monster in every department as the graph shows and will be unbeatble on the road, and certainly not to be sniffed at on track either, looking forward to seeing it perform next year.

PS: IM STILL WAITING FOR MY RIDE IN IT

Ye glen,i think your right, any bigger/later spool would spoil it as a "road car" ,see you tom @ clinic ,hopefully see good figs or at least the same from the changes,it deffo feels better on the road from changing the ehaust and air filter.

Hi,

the SC46 wheels measure the same as a GT30/71, that is a 71mm Billet compressor wheel driven by a 60mm GT30 turbine wheel.

Thanks for the question

cheers

Hi,

ironically they should be here today.

Shipment left Friday from the states, there are 4 X SC42 twin scrolls Billets on there and I do have an SC46 twin scroll Billet on the shelf more suited to 2.5 Ltr engines.

Also 4 X SC42 single scroll Billets on their way, and a shed load of GT30 and GT35 billets too.

Cheers
Kev

Sweet! Been pestering Adam for some time now for an SC46 twin scroll.

Put the fundage aside a while back which has mysterioulsy lost the exact same amount as it cost my lady to buy new stairs carpet.... Be much safer with a turbo sat on the shelf.

Finally got my EJ22 engine re-build and in the car paired with the SC46 its a mental on the road.

This is only on low boost running in kilometers, can't wait for full boost.

I can't thank Kev enough for all his help and guidans in this project, top bloke.

Will return with graph when fully mapped.

Any idea, how this SC46 would perform with a 2.1 stroker(with avcs)?

Hi,

its stripped off the car, looks fine so we are going to bolt a normal 20G on to see if it makes more than a bar, if it does then there is a problem with the SC38 BB Billet if it doesn't there is a problem with the car, could be an air leak somewhere on the inter cooler or associated pipe work, couldn't hear a leak though when it was on the dyno.

cheers

Hi,

I take it you are referring to the SC46 twin scroll, if so it should work well.

I state "should" as we have not tried one on this combination.

cheers

I'm thinking of going T.S. SC42 - or even T.S. SC46! - on my STi 5...

Kev, are the best (quality/performance) T.S. headers/uppipe, the JDM Blob OEM items? Is the JDM Hawk and Hatch T.S. too - if so, are their headers/uppipe any better?

Or are there any aftermarket ones just as good or better?

Which T.S. fully decatted downpipe would you recommend - needs to be 3" with 3" flange? If OEM, then I'm guessing it'll have to be shortened a bit to fit the rest of my existing Classic's system?

Hi,

the SC46 billet twin scroll has a larger housing and bigger exhaust turbine wheel than the SC42 Billet twin scroll which makes it more suited to bigger displacement engines.

cheers

Hi,

from our findings we like the oe twin scroll headers and up pipe set up, as far as I am aware they are similar on the JDM hawk and JDM new hatch/saloon, but I stand corrected if I am wrong.

Haywood and Scott would make you a twin scroll down pipe to fit a classic.

Any after market twin scroll headers and up pipes we have come across seem to slug spool, truth is though we haven't seen many at all, the twin scroll cars being a bit thin on the ground.

cheers
Kev

Cheers.

Thanks for the custom H&S d/p tip - well chuffed with that info.

I take it a T.S. set-up, using the T.S. SC42, will give me much greater spool-up (theoretically, at least lol) than my current std S.S./20g combo.? As that'd be the main reason for changing (as well as, no doubt, breaking the 400+ barrier in the process ).

Indeed, all other things being equal, how would you rate a T.S. SC42 set-up on an otherwise standard STi 5 block/heads, compared to a S.S. SC42 set-up. Surely the T.S. would spool a few 100rpm's sooner... At least!?

Hi,

again not seen enough of the twin scroll stuff to be conclusive.

The SC42 Billet single scroll is a great spooler, the twin scroll version should be spool even better but by how much I don't know.

Cheers
