Instant response and mid range grunt is your key for that discipline. My set-up is really responsive, but Simon suggests that he could of shaved quite a bit of time off in the Spec C, with better response. The peak power was never an issue, hence why no more than low boost was ever needed, which some could never quite understand.

Kev,
Great figures on meth! I suspect with decent race fuel you should bang 600bhp, all things being equal.

I may even pop up and see how my 486bhp at the hubs relates to a flywheel figure on your dyno, at some point for interests sake. However, when a car is doing well in something the actual power attained on a RR becomes less important.... in fact you hope it reads low. lol I suspect you may understand that from a non-commercial "turbo selling" perspective, as your cars have also done well this year.

Keep up the good work...... I might have to stick some funny fuel in mine as I seem to be missing out on the party!

Which is why i was looking at small turbo's rather than out right number producers lol

Pop in anytime shaun, we suspect race gas will give us the magic 600 bhp figure too.

Hi,
truth is it just did that

possably a kebab burp from the master

Didnt feel anything when we ran it, they have just finished a 10% meth run, when printed we can see if it does it again.

lol - yeah. it does look like a pressure bulge/blip induced by an external force causing the correction factor to temporarily change the calculated figures

How come the benchmark test on that car was done in 3rd and the new (higher figures) are done in 4th ? For the sake of consistency and to avoid people calling foul it might be useful to show comparable graphs in 3rd gear

Hi,

I understand what you are saying Duncan, if you check the dates the original printout is from Sept 2009 and was run by our main dyno operator Mark, nickname "Beef", he was off yesterday so our other dyno operator jumped in and ran the car, everything was checked and double checked to ensure the readings were accurate.

When we originally mapped the car in Sept, it was mapped for track use in the LMA using third gear on the dyno to keep run times to a minimum thereby avoiding heat soak.

For testing turbo's we decided to run in 4th as its the gear that gives the nearest 1:1 output, as recomended by dyno dynamics.

Seeing as the vehicle is still strapped on the dyno we have run it again, in third

The above runs have been done exactly as the car was on the last runs yesterday

Interesting.

A bit worrying that bhp can vary so much - i guess the leaning out to 12.4:1 helped

Hi,

AFR has gone from 12 :1 to 12.35 :1, I have the original printouts in front of me, much clearer than the scanned images you are looking at.

Also note the boost has increased slightly, the map has not been touched we have simply run the car as is, left it to warm up then did one run to check your point out, customers waiting.

It is foggy and very cold here today, maybe atmospherics are the reason for the slight increase in boost

Point is all the turbo's on this thread work, the direct fit ones work better than any other direct fit unit on the market, the Billet GT 30 speaks for itself, 35 R billet on its way

cheers

Looking forward to seeing how the billet 35R performs.

That could be a very very nice turbo for my Front Mount turbo'd 2.5 Type R with AVCS and Cosworth cams.

Very very interested in this indeed.

Just while I am on here, please could you correct your advert in Jap Performance magasine which states that you dominated and won the Club Challenge Time Attack 2009.

What has that got to do with this turbo thread?

There was a typo, it should of read 2008 not 2009 this was beyond our control as it went straight from the designer to the publisher.
I hope you don't think it was done on purpose?

Do you have a problem with us at Scoobyclinc as your posts on this thread seem to be a tad negative.

Not at all - just i found that irritating after the hard work put in during this year.

Don't think they have been negative at all - quite the contrary.

Hi Duncan,
this has just been brought to my attention, I will contact J/P and see if we can get an apology for the typing error in the next issue.

Well done for this years time attack result

Note the last boost and AFR printout had an inverted kebab burp at 5250 really dont know whats going on there.

Cheers

common man we all know you won, they are not going to recall all the mags for a tiny typing error. dont think it will be a typing error in 2010 though

I had a gt3076 on my car and I thought it was good fun, It never made the power I wanted due to problems but here is a graph of it at 1.6bar on a 2ltr block I now have a gt35 and would prefer that over the gt30 even on a 2ltr.

Opps just realised on this graph the power is down as I had limited the boost contro;;er to 1.1bar by mistake but it made 490bhp normally at 1.6/7 bar
