Put me down for one, and could you supply it complete in a ECU?. I've got a my96 v2 sti, it has a 4 plug ecu.
Will have a chip regardless!.
Would it be easy to replace a Porova chip which is already in my current ecu?.
Cant wait to get the new chip!!

recieved my chip on saterday and fitted it yesterday , the power increase and running characteristics with the chip fitted are very, very impressive . what got me the most was how much harder the car accellerates and how much quicker it now climbs up the gears . to everyone who is interested in one of these chips i can reassure you that they do what is said on the tin and you will not be dissapointed . to major sarcasm as above, well impressed mate your a top man thankyou

hey.. this has probaly been asked but im being sneaky at work and dont have time to trawl through the other posts. But would this fit my 1993 WRX Import (The original first model they did in early 1993). And what benefit would i see with currently a full decatted exhaust and apexi induction? Hi Lukey
Yes, the early Imprezas are chippable, no probs. Good benefits with the early ones, circa 280bhp+ and a Z4 firmware upgrade for your ECU for good measure
Have a quick read of the FAQ linked in my signature. This should answer any and all questions that you might have. If any occur to you that I haven't covered, let me know and I'll do my best to answer.

Hi, just wondering..... I have a Version 3 Jap import wagon sti, I know these chips wont work for me but does anyone know of good ones that will, I am running k&n cone and decat exhaust. I am a little nervous of it not being tuned for our fuel rather the 100 ron in jap. Was thinking I should be going down the new ecu route but if there is a trust worthy chip out there would rather take that option as it would be cheeper. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Also is it a good idea to upgrade the fuel pump any way??
Cheers boys.......and girls??!!!!

Steve you are a legend mate
Ecu turned up today with my lovely new chip fitted. Thank you very much, can not wait to see how the old girl runs at the weekend.
Anyone who is thinking about these chips, they are the best value ever for an early classic. Top service by major_sarcasm & very helpful, top guy to deal with

Option 1) Tesco 99/V power and octane booster (nf black bottle is about the best one) to be on the safe side.
Option 2) Full stand alone ecu swap out. Expect to pay about £1000 - £1200.
However if the car is standard you'll be fine just running with 99 / v power as the ecu should change the timing to suit the fuel. You'll be a little down on power though as a result. I wouldn't run it on lesser fuels though or fit decats or anything else. Just imo. Best bet though would be to speak to a reputable tuner.

Cheers for that mate, I thought after I posted the thread that my car doesn't have the 180kph limiter working??? I looked at the ecu and noticed a sticker for a jap aftermarket tunner on it??? Forgot the name now will have to look again. Do you think this could mean that the car has been chipped already??? It certainly goes well. Any thoughts appreciated.

could it be mines? It may be tweaked. Check the boost it runs and also what the ecu says. Take the cover off and post a pic in the tech section. Someone will be able to confirm for you.
