Genuine Scooby ECU chip upgrades - suits classics to 1996

Right, finally got my scoob going sweet, after the extra boost soon found out my cracked coil packs. After checking and replacing them as needed i can confirm some very pleasing results:
1. Do not hesitate in purchasing if you are concerned with vendor. I had numerous problems along the route , all being my circumstances and not the product. Major Sarcasm did everything he could to help me and provided me with more after market care than alot of major retailers
2. My car drives much more smoothly and when not toe-ing it, returns a better mpg. Gloucester to Reading @ 80 on £40 , and still had good quarter tank left, so not much more than £25
3. What you`re waiting to hear, the performance has increased, very nicely. Going from my TD04 to TD05, then TD05 plus chip was night and day. Pulls really nicely throughout. Most cost effective part i have purchased so far, with satisfaction per pound in mind.
I`ll be popping it on the rollers again soon and put the graph, with the one done 2 months ago (94 WRX Wagon standard) on this thread so comparisons can be made.
Thanks again Major S.

Those people that have PM'd me over the last couple of days and are waiting for a response, I'll answer tonight/tomorrow morning all the outstanding. Sorry for delay guys, I've been up country this weekend visiting my Dad who's not well.
Yes there are some left. PM me and we can arrange payment, etc.
As the STIs run more boost as standard, I'd say that wasn't too bad. Good news on the extra fuel economy too. The biggest gains are from the UK cars as they are down on power vs the imports, but the WRXs see good gains too. We have a slightly different map for the STIs and lots of people report that general drivability is improved nicely. It's not all about power!

Socket went in the post today my friend. As I said in the PM, there should've been one with the chip in the package, but no matter. Not a problem to send out another

Could I fit one of these to my Prova ecu?, getting tired of paying for octane booster!!!!. Just wondered if the sockets are the same??.
Or can I get any 4 plug ecu (7D etc ) re-chipped to my car? ( V2 '555' STI )
Thanks Andrew

Hi Andrew
From doing a little Googling, it seems that the sockets are the same so a chip from me should fit and work the same as chipping any other ECU (I have a special map for the STI too). Alternatively, any pre-96 ECU will do (but a UK ECU will already have a socket fitted) and the firmware will be upgraded to Z4 regardless once the chip is in and enabled.

Yes, the version 2 STI will make around 275bhp... in Japan, on 100 RON fuel. We have a special map for STIs with slightly modified values to suit the more aggressive cams. Couple that with more boost and you'll get more power than the stock map even on 97 RON.
I have never made wild power claims in this thread, preferring to keep it sensible. Not going to start now! Suffice to say, those that have the STI map have been very happy with it

I can vouch for these chips (when he has some more!) Ive fitted one to my 93 wrx and it drives really nice. I fitted a the chip into a uk ecu (which already had a socket fitted).
The car pulls harder and drives smoother. I am monitoring fuel consumption.
Im going to fit a decated downpipe this weekend too.
major sarcasm is very helpful and offers a good service.

If anyone is after a UK ECU (which should have a socket fitted from the factory), Matty has one for sale in this thread for 30 quid! Just ask him to pop the casing open to double-check.
Should have some more chips soon.

hi mate i have a pp chip in my wagon at the mo but have changed the tdo4 for a tdo5 so need a different map. i have got a spare chip with a crap map on it that only boosts to 13 psi would you be able to erase it and reprogramme it with your map and does your map hold peak boost to the red?

PM me if you want a chip re-programmed

The answer is yes to both questions. However, boost will only be healthy if your coilpacks and boost control solenoid are in good condition. Be careful if you're running a TD05 with a TD04 map; the boost profile is different so the fueling may not be correct at certain points in the rev-range.
