can't remember what the ecu update is for i'll check tomorrow if i remember but the wiring is the loom that goes down the front of the intercooler about where the throttle body would be on a petrol, the edge of the intercooler cuts in to the loom and you have to get the loom checked out as it may need replacing, again all foc.

Mine is ok no clutch juddering at all with 18 k miles 17 months old

Occasional dududu rattling from the engine mostly when it's colder days but fine rest of the time
It feels a lot faster now then it did at 12k economy now at 44.4 for the last 6 k miles average but normally 45.3 per tank now as mostly short fast blasts ,it's been better the last tank as longer journeys creep it up to 46mpg

Had to have the passenger door internal release handle wire replaced which dealer hadn't had before apart from that 2stone chips on bonnet and a few on the gold gt1 wheels

Never used a drop of oil which is unusual for a new diesel

Personally, the clutch and gearbox are a bit crappier than I thought that they might be.

Hopefully they will get better in the versions.

Cool

Mine does the same HKP I went to the dealer and typically I could not demonstrate it again they said to me if it happens again they will look @ it in my next serivce I have 41k Kilometers on mine and everything else is grand apart from the clutch does not use a drop of oil and I get about 45mpg sometimes it goes down to 40-42 I think it depends when the DPF regen cycle kicks in it goes a bit lower

The WRXd has just turned 27 k miles and is continuing to loosen up nicely
And economy has improved to 48-49 mpg per tank
No nasty rattles
Interior is as robust as ever
One more stone chip though
Slight corrosion on prodrive wheel centre caps
Still looks as good as ever
STi grill and STi rear spoiler improved the looks
26 months old now and still no regrets especially with tank fills creeping up to £82 was £76 a year ago and £68 too years ago I'm glad I didn't get the 330s

So, how are all the oil burners doing?

Suprised that Subaru is not being a bit more competitive with the engines, both on the Forester and the rest of the cars.......considering the german competion.

32k on mine now and is really loosened up nicely averageing 48/49 per tank although I had a very fast blast to Blackpool and a couple of fast short trips got it down to 36mpg for the tank

Slight clunk when I brake to a stop coming from the rhs front and another stone chip
No rattles and getting better with age
No regrets buying it and will keep it when my new toy gets delivered to add to my Subaru fleet

Cool, coming up to the 3rd service and other than the cold weather clutch judder (not always though) it has been doing it's job well.
The gearbox and the clutch are the main gripes for me, both could be way better.
MPG is not too bad, 7/8 litres per 100kms.
Been looking for ways to increase bhp without too much effort, but not much around really.

Got my Legacy oilburner remapped at Litchfields back in July; done 22000 miles and v happy. Have a clutch whistle/wheeze on release when cold, but goes after 5 mins. Tons of stone chips after going to Gibralter and back this summer av 46mpg. Would like some suspension mods one day but dont know where to go. Like Lordharding, I love having both petrol and derv Subarus; best of both worlds. Off to Alps at xmas; a joy to drive

Sounds like I'm winng the mileage race 39500 Still going strong as well. had a few issues with the finish, but Subaru have replaced the lot.

Now I just need to save for the mods I want! And that ain't a cheap list!

Never had that complaint to be fair, steering it usually fine. we have had issue's with the headlamp leveller linkage binding on the N/S/F alloy suspension arm and causing a clunking sort of noise when it free's off for a moment or two.

Went to my Subaru mechanic it looks like front differential fault which is not good are they expensive? He said this is common on atumotic Subaru's but he has not seen one go in the 6 Speed Diesel Scooby.

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has managed to get any serious "burble" out of these cars?

I've currently got a vortex back and custom straight centre, sounds great when the DPF regenerates but I'm getting nothing the rest of the time. My exhaust guy seems to think that the DPF contains a Cat and that's silencing it.

The car will be going to Bob Rawle (legend) shortly for a remap but I want to get this sorted before I take it. Speaking to Bob, he wasn't so sure it'd be the DPF silencing it and is going to make some enquiries (absolute legend).

It seems it can be done when listening to this clip:

Just wondered if anyone out there has managed to achieve this?
