There is a Belgian guy on youtube who had a custom system made, sounded ok, but not like a petrol turbo. You are probably better off spending your pennies on remapping; 180 bhp/ 310 lbsft.

Hi,

What is the Legacy 2.0D R like to on the handling front out of the box.

I'm looking for an AWD oil burner for winter. Was looking at A4 1.9/2.5 TDI Sport Quattros. Slighty older models but similar miles and price bracket.

I'd actually prefer a Legacy, but whilst I want some good MPG, I don't want it to be a total bore.

Also, just out of interest. Would it be worth putting the Spec B suspension set up on the diesel?

I`ve got a 09 diesel Leggy, remapped. The ride is very soft and comfortable compared to an wrx , but if you push it hard it works very well; I think the chassis is pretty similar to the Impreza. There is a 5 Gear where Vicky whatsit compares a volvo with a Spec B and it`s the chassis that impresses her most as it whips the volvo. I was thinking of beefing the ARB`s first before changing any shocks or springs, but there does n`t appear to be many who have gone down that route yet. I have driven A4`s and they are efficient but dull, and small as well, and very very common.

Thanks mate, good feedback.

I agree about the A4's (and any Audi) I'm not a huge fan normally, but not many diesel awd's about that are still fairly good to drive in a car chassis, which is what I want for winter.

What sort of MPG are you getting out of the mapped engine out of interest? It's an impressive unit as standard power/mpg.

I must admit I love the fact Scooby made their own boxer diesel, despite low volumes - can't be good for profit but, like Honda they don't like to compromise on engineering, which I appreciate - alot.

Handling being similar to the Impreza doesn't sound like a bad thing!? I would expect great traction, but I guess I was wondering if it feels balanced and is enjoyable in the bent and twisties (obviously not expecting WRX here).

The sport audi's to have a slightly more dynamic chassis package on the Sport, lower right height etc, so I was wondering how that compares to the standard Legacy package.

Went 2000 miles to Spain and back last year, full car with 2 kids, averaged 46.5 mpg ( reality prob 43/43) Driven locally and normally 42mpg, drive like miss daisy and 54/53 mpg. Like Imprezas, when you remap, you tend to drive it a bit harder! Had Merc/bmw estate owners say what a good ride it had, as passengers, very quiet at speed. Found it great for long journeys, and always look forward to driving it the next day. Feels a bit wallowy after driving the wrx wagon ( stage 1, Eibach springs) but it seems to get better the harder you push it though bends. Engine prefers a thrashing to driving around town, and clutch whistles when cold; still love it but cant answer how it compares to s line Audi. Always welcome to have a ride if down in the New Forest

My wrxd is at 39k miles is going well but I've noticed economy
Has slipped ever so slightly from 47 to 44 mpg for some reason
Yet my driving is still the same and has just started to use a bit of oil
So I will keep n eye on it
Performance is as good as ever and continues to loosen up
Performance is similar to by classic turbo

Are you talking about the 150bhp model?

Performance is similar to classic turbo? How is that possible? Its giving away 65bhp to the poverty spec turbo and is surely far more heavy?
