So decent brands - Panasonic and Toshiba?
Maybe so. It just tends to happen that what you think is the max size you'd go for once you have it and get used to it you reassess. very common

Nat - we watch very little TV really and have only just dusted down our DVD player (joined ilovefilm) - it was unused for over three years! Wouldn't mind being able to see what we do watch a bit better. Dark Knight was almost impossible to watch on our little TV!

Sorry but that's not true SKY and the BBC transmitt in 1080i there will not be any 720P transmissions from UK domesic broadcasters unless the material was originally shot 720P. Which is hardly anything these days.
For future proofing and if you sit close enough get a 1080 tv.
Craig.

I have a Toshiba 32" WLT68 TV, nice picture quality and good sound. I got it from John Lewis about 3 years ago. A couple of month back it started to develop a small fault (wouldn't always turn on the first time) John Lewis were very good in getting it sorted (had the free 5 year warranty). Worth checking of they do a TV you like and they will price match anything on the web providing the company has a 'shop' and isn't just a web site.

Sony's don't seem to get good reviews that often, and you seem to pay more just for the name.

Might also be worth looking on AVForums.
