"Would love to try over 500bhp myself but dont want to start on another project Scoob when its so much easier to get 500-550bhp out of an Evo which much less Cash Outlay and time!! - time is pretty much key to many, many wasted years...."
Fangoria:
I have driven 8,9 & 10 Evo's ranging from 330 to 440Bhp and you are correct that an Evo costs much less to reach 500, but it will not feel the same mate.
I believe Evo's do handle better than a standard Impreza and they are great cars, but the difference I find is that the Evo power is delivered a lot smoother.
Even bearing that in mind I took out one of my friends last week in my P1 (he owns an Evo 10 running 380Bhp) and I'll be honest, when I floored it in 2nd he **** himself and was totally shocked at the performance.
Believe me mate, a genuine 500+ in a Classic is quick !!
The P1 is my 39th car and many have been "petrolhead" motors and nothing comes close.
The good thing is he is telling all his Evo mates
Do you know why that is? Because evo owners use the 24% bull**** factor to take wheel to flywheel power!
If I used that crap on my car, it would be showing 600bhp at the fly!
