If you have not already paid for the billet crank, I would suggest it is not worth it at this level. Just stick with an OE 9 crank...... will save you a fortune.
Good luck with your quest of 500bhp!

Straight Vpower for dyno so far Shaun, needs the fuel system revising now though as the single Walboro can't keep up (Thats why I didn't let it rev right out on the dyno due to high IDC's) , have dropped it back to 460hp for a minute.
Will be fitting a swirl pot and Bosch pump in the next week or so and we are off up to Shakespeare this weekend although the weather looks crap again for Sunday.

MartynJ,
Excellent figures on VPower, well done to all involved!
What kind of boost was needed for that power, 4bar?
It would certainly be interesting to see what that turbo does as regards to lowdown grunt on a proper 2.5!

I agree Shaun, it would be good to see what it could do on a 2.5 with the Cossie heads and cams etc, maybe later .

It is standard fitment to the uppipe Duncan, but does require a custom downpipe. It has its own cast elbow which points downwards and requires welding to the existing downpipe, no biggy for any exhaust manufacturer but you know all this already. It is a damn sight cheaper than the alternatives though being some £500 less than a 321, 555, AET jobby.
Glad to see you are still happy with your turbo after your recent engine shenanigans, .

Martyn,
Nothing out of the ordinary then regarding boost levels for this type of power. Get the 2.5 done!!!!!!
Should be getting my standard fit AET turbo put through it's paces on a Flywheel Dyno this weekend if I can find the time, to see what the new high compression engine build does relative to flywheel outputs against the previous engine. New engine recorded 486bhp at the hubs on VPower last month, running slightly less boost than you.

I have to admit to being tempted to try one of the AET units Shaun, have spoken to Andy about it a couple of times now, just have to find the right car.
DD or Dastek dyno at the weekend ?

Steve,
You never know.... it might fluke over 500bhp.... at the wheels!
Good luck on Sunday with the 600bhp. Should be barmy!
Martyn,
More cc's and higher compression is the future mate!
Dastek Dyno, as that houses a direct comparison to how the previous engine performed.

jabbawockymark,
I certainly hope you are in the club next year, but sorry for sounding off but do you realise how much this will cost? As you have already jumped from 500bhp to 600bhp in a matter of 24hrs. Have you actually driven a REAL 500bhp Scoob, let alone a 600bhp? It's easy to say you want 600bhp.... but actually achieving it is entirely different.

400 is a good target for the road and still reasonably affordable, 450 gets really expensive, 500 even more so and 600 is a completely different ball game and for the road is a waste of time IMO.

500bhp is unusable on the road imo (well mine is, anyway near its performance limit), even in a lard **** Newage.... like Duncan, I can speak from experience.
As Duncan has said, I would say 400bhp for the road in a nice usable package.
Perhaps the OP is looking to race it though!
