I was looking for my firewall to act as just that but also to give some strength between me and the heavy metal objects in the boot I know which one I would chose. I am an aircraft engineer and work with composite materials all the time thats why mine is ally well price as well, as you say. In this case I prefer functionality over looks But have to agree the carbon fibre one does look nice.
The tank thats in there is a bit of a compromise. It was designed, by John Stevenson, and built by one of the lads who competes in the Scottish championship and has his own welding business, more details in my own project thread. The idea of the tank was to allow me to have a tank which can be used on the road to give me the ability to drive to events and have a decent range, before I had a trailer, but also provide a means to avoid surge on track. The tank is baffled at 6 litres and around 20 litres. I used this last year but only ever had around 7 litres in the tank for any sprint or hillclimb run and it was very effective. I wont be using it this year as I will swap this for a 10 litre tank after the car is mapped. I can then swap and change tanks dependant what I use the car for.

well its what i will be using competetively next year and when competition starts ill replace all 8 on both sets of wheelsso ive got two fresh sets and see how we go. car will never really be on the road so 888's will only get used on the track. up scoobyclinic today t get spoiler mounted and get logistics of movin it to abw on monday for bodywork so its all moving in the right direction

a few days since last post to be honest car has gone as far as it could before the bodywork had to be done, fitted the wheels they are massive wide as hell they stick out an inch either side and thats before the spacers to giv the shocks more room have been fitted. oh she be wide had an e-mail yesterday from darren at abw to my ddelight he is back from his hols and is collecting the car tommorrow. deadline has moved to october but that is still 6 months earlier than schedule, nice my suspension has also arrived and its pretty impressive hotbits 42 way adjustable rebound , 32 way adjustable compression rate, height & camber adjustable too. each coilover has its own remote resevoir
and i really do beleive these are a close to the top ex-e-tc as you can get at just over half the price (four cost around 2.5k i think) they are pretty brilliant bits of kit, i will get some pics of it sorted. scoobyclinic are now a uk hotbits disributor, they do a performance setup DT1 for the fast road/mild track and another focussed on purely motorsport the DT2 which i now have on my car this is the model with detachable resevoir , workmanship and quality is easy to see, if like me you see suspension as a key part of your car setup and dont have 4.5k for the top ex-e-tc i would definately check these out , they are far better than many of the bigger companies. any info wanted on this suspension jut give scoobyclinic a call

the make off th suspension is hotbits, they offer fast road and mild track model dt1 then full race which is the dt2, its another ozzy company i wanted to go with a well known brand couldnt afford the £5000 top exetc and the fast road i was not overly keen on tbh did,nt like the way it felt and as its for time attack i need confidence in the handling of the car, hotbits dt2 work out just a little bit more than fast road exetc but in my opinion worth every penny, more adjustability, finish and quality are unreal, they wont go rusty like exetc's can, good warrenty and now scoobyclinic are a uk main dealer which is very handy most of the scoobyclinic cars now run hotbits suspension it really is some really good kit.
not sure if they do an inverted model

THATS WHAT I THOUGHT TOO. AFTER SEEING THE QUALITY OF DARRENS FABRICATION WORK & FIT AND FINISH IT WAS DONE DEAL FOR ME. THE PLACE IS IN THE MIDDLE OF NO-WHERE ITS MILES HARDER TO FIND THAN SCOOBYCLINIC, THAT COULD BE BECAUSE MY SAT NAV DECIDED TO BREAK ANS I ENDED UP LOST FOR TWO HOURS DRIVING AROUND THIS LITTLE VILLAGE CALLED MALDON

postman has just been with him he bought my polycarbonate windows four side windows with grey tinted rears and a clear rear screen, the resevoirs and footrest for my brake kit, also all my mates (who was going to run in time attack and is now selling his car) un used perrin suspension parts all in origional boxes and bubble wrap two boxes had never been opened
front and rear roll bars, postive steering and anti lift kit, front and rear drop links and shperical bearing perrin lateral links, i had taken photos but the camera didn't save them and ive packed it all away now but im sure you have all seen it before
the car will also run a set of 5mm hubcentric spacers to allow for any camber adjustments

not sure yet to be honest mate spec of the build keeps changing origionally we wer looking to run around 480 with a rotated setup for future progression after watching the later rounds of time attack we realised for the car to be competetive we would need more power then we looked at 520 now its spec'd closer to the higher ends of 500bhp with over 600flb. scoobyclinic have been trying a few different things on different cars this season to find the best mix of parts and they seem to have concocted something pretty special. there are two cars mine and a p1 that are going to have the 2010 revised race engine, which now includes cosworth parts. i dont want to say to much incase we choose something else but the two turbos that have been mentioned for first stage garret gt35r or a hybrid gt35r with progression in future maybe to gt40r

Trailer looks like a smaller version of mine. Brian James A-Max series. I have the AMT310, i would suggest anything from the amt210 upwards would suffice for a scoob.

hmmmmm to buy or not to buy paddle shift kit that works!! kit is expensive but ill see what i can do with that the website has loads of vids and they have a demo car to see the kit working. take a look
Geartronics - Sequential gearbox electronic systems - Pneumatic paddle shift system
im going to give them a call tommorrow see if i can look at the demo car i have been looking at converting to a sequential shifter for a while but no harm in ringing geartronics as they do that kit aswell. ill also have to have a chat with scoobyclinic 1st see what their thoughts are as i think i will never sell the car and will only ever be used for racing never on the road so i can see it being worth the outlay, but ill spk with the pro's tomorrow
seamless upshifts and auto blipped down shifts no clutch
