crap news no paddle shifters as the only gearbox they work with at present is a quaife fully sequential box and that is'nt avalable for subaru's it wont work with a ppg dog box. so it looks like the big old lever its going to be. kit is on the previous page defo worth a look. gutted. olly clarke has something in the pipelines so ill have to see what they offer up. the waiting game

nice and fresh its the fit and finish that sets darrens work apart from the rest he actually makes sure everything is spot on an symetrical all shut lines on all his kits meet up, its paying the attention to detail that builds up to a great finish. hope im another happy abw customer

your not wrong there its because its such a big thing i spose seems to take forever, concidering the amount of work that has already been done in four months maybe im being a little impatient, but who is'nt. i just want to get it ready for testing october time hopefully get all the niggles out before time attack you thought with the amount of subarus in high states of tune someone would have built a sequential box for it. ah well not to be crap, but fact.

There ARE two sequential boxes for the subarus that work, they are the RCMS 6 Speed sequential and the Modena Sequential (TEG Motorsport). Both kits use Modena dog gears, but have different mechanisms.

I cant quite remember how much the Modena one is, but £12k rings a bell. I still have not managed to get a price for the RCMS one out of Matt and Olly, but i would imagine it is in a similar ball park!

why not look into getting the new paddle shift out of a hatchback? They've just released it in Japan haven't they? can have full auto mode or paddle shift. 6 speed as well iirc. there was something on pistonheads a while back.

i was speaking to olly about that modena box the other day its still in its final stages of development but its going to be ultra dollar will have to wait and see how generous olly is feeling i spose
like i said dog box ikeya shifter is looking like what i will go for. will start with the ppg dog box and add the ikeya sequential shifter if necessary.
ill fit paddles when my lotto numbers come through
i went to abw today and all i can say is oh my f*****g god my car is going to be an absolute monster. the beginings of the kit have test fitted and all the aero front bumper is being fully constructed there is a rear diffuser i think from a touring car going to be modified and fitted full aero front splitter trust me its unbelievablestill weeks to go yet but the ouline is there.
more weight went aswell all electric windows and motors out and all doors are having all the weight stripped from them plus the oe seat rail mounts will go and the inner boot skin this should be one light car
is anyone using this gearbox setup?

the biggest dude. its 6 hr round trip to scoobyclinic and 7 hrs round trip to abw so its a big commitment but well worth it, i would rather travel for quality than stay local and take second best. between me the clinic and abw something very special is being built. the bodykit will be exclusive to this car only although darren may do a tamer version for road cars as the kit on mine will not be practical for a road car to low to wide and splitters are too extreme this car has 1 purposes to be asaerodynamic as possible (were looking at taking it to a wind tunnel when the kits done) so unfortunately the beautiful looks are'nt top of the menu & will have bits sticking out here there and evreywhere but then it will be stunning due to the quality of the work so its a win win situation

right this is for all the folk that have asked previously for the spec of this engine build here is a basic outline
2.4 ltr forged, lightened and balanced everything( not doing the list yet will do that that the end)
solaris ecu
scoobyclinic hybrid gt35r rotated setup
custom headers etc
reversed cosworth manifold
fuel lab prodigy pump, filter and regulator
custom fuel rails with 1000cc injectors
custom intercooler pipe work
hyperflow fmic
standard 6 speed box with 6 ppg dog gears and internals
pat then to map it.
missed loads probably but it will be in the comprehensive list when built

now that i have finally come to terms with the fact my spec c has been totally dedicated to motorsport i need a new daily driver.
unlike before i now travel a lot for work and for time attack etc so i dont think another subaru would be practical. here are my requirements

four days week i have to travel to commute to swansea from chepstow 3hr round trip usually stuck in trafic for ages both ways nearly 200 miles

i need to be able to tow the car and trailer to track days

take myself and partener to time attack

drive 6 hr round trip to scoobyclinic at least once a month

must perrfom well

good fuel consumption

reliability so i get to places without breaking dow especially with trailer in tow and the amount of miles it will have to do

and comfort, has to be a nice place to be as i will be in it so much

budget max 8k

any pics or suggestions welcome i am 25 by the way so a citroen bx will not do

1 large fuel filter
1 fuel pressure regulator(waiting to see if i need 2)
all brackets fixtures and fittings

its such lovely kit looks stunning and feels and looks top quality loads bigger than you would think aswell

Your car choice is going to be limited by the towing capacity of the car + trailer weight.

Something big, heavy and diesel!

what weight are you expecting utaka ? i would have thought even with the weight loss you will be @1300kilos with a newage, plus about 3/400 kilos for the trailer .
